Meataly Hentes & Grillbár — Restaurant in Budapest

Let's cut to the chase. We started with mixed bruschetta - it was good, but the bread was burnt. I thought to myself that it is not a big problem - I did not know at that time that this was by far the best part of the meal. Our main courses were aged sirloin and branzino. It was already a bit strange that my side dish did not arrive at the same time as the branzino. The bigger probelm was the sirloin. It was swimming in a very creamy gorgonzola sauce, and it was cooked blue (rarer than rare). We had to send it back, so we ate my branzino while waiting. It looked good, but the skin was left on the fish, which is a problem if you cook the fish, since smaller skin pieces were everywhere in my meal after two bites, and it was really disgusting. On top of it the fish and the sauce was completely tasteless - which is a feat since the sauce had olive, capri and tomato in it. Finally the sirloin arrived, but it was barely better cooked than at first, and it had even more sauce. I have eaten aged beef before many times (lived in Texas), but this meat was something weird. We could not finish more than a third of it. They actually wanted to charge us for the meat, which is a bit ridiculous after sending it back once, then only being able to finish one third of it. I am not sure how other people appreciate this place so much - maybe they only eat pizza. BTW, keep in mind grilled vegetable as a side dish cost 2000 HUF - I am not sure I have to say...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Meataly Hentes & Grillbár, and I must say, the experience was exceptional. The food at this establishment is truly terrific, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Italian pasta and pizza.

We wanted to try this Italian restaurant for some time now and ended up sharing one of their basic pizzas (Margarita) just to get the taste of it. We also had the vegetable fries. The fries were quite tasty and a good variety, although at the end I personally found it a tad bit too oily, but this is just my personal opinion. The pizza tasted nice, although the middle part was a bit soggy and I found the crust a bit too chewy. The basic margarita pizza was 1500 HUF which is quite a budget friendly price, but if you want to upgrade it, you could pay for up to 3200 (depending on what kind of pizza you’d like). The menu for the pizzas is actually not that long, perhaps around 8 kinds, but they serve other food as well. Will probably be back to try something...
