My Fiancée and I and be frequenting this restaurant for over ten years together when we annually visit her family. We’ve not dined there for 18 months until today. We’ve always had a positive experience here, until today when we we greeted by a waiter that was completely devoid of any customers service skills. It goes without saying that you should look after the people you’re waiting on, not only for your own tips, but the reputation of the restaurant.
We arrived today with two young children. The waiter showed us to our table. Since we last visited the menu has changed (for the worst in our opinion). There’s not much to choose from on the kids menu so we asked for a simple small bowl of spaghetti with a touch of butter.
When the food arrived it seems the plates have got larger and the portions smaller since our last visit. I’m not going to complain about the price of the dishes going up because this is the same everywhere you go now.
When the waiter brought us the bill we noticed that we had been charged an adult carbonara for the small bowl of plain spaghetti. Considering that a carbonara if 4400HFT we thought this was a bit of a cheek to say the least. So we naturally complained. The waiters attitude changed in an instant. He became very aggressive, striking the table with his hand and raising his voice towards my fiancée so much so that my young daughter felt the need to walk around to the other side of the table away from him. The waiter went to speak to management(apparently) only to come back to say in a very condescending manner that he had reduced the bill by 1000HFT. That’s reduced to 3400HFT. That’s reduced to £8 for a bowl of spaghetti for any UK readers! Not exactly value for money! Make sure you check your bill at the end for unexpected surprises as it seems screwing the customer for as much as possible is a priority.
Won’t be going back which is a great shame as this used to our ‘go to’ place whenever we...
Read moreThe only reason why it is a 2 star for me and not 1 is because the food was good (say 4 star out of the 5), but the service is proper 0. The attitude of our waiter (which is at least as important as the food) was well bellow acceptable, all through the night it felt we were asking a favour from him. We were being rushed to order this is how it all started, then following the instructions on the menu, saying to choose our desserts from the cake part of the restaurant, we did so but when asked for some clarification from our waiter whether we have to select the order there and tell the waiter later ooor we have to grab our desserts from there only the reply was a proper order: "go back to your table, i will come".....????!!!! (this is when i decided that i am not gonna tip him), then when asked for a bottle of water (oh yeah...because here they "do not have" -literally, as i was told- tap water) it took him at least 20 min to complete the order, whereas his part of the restaurant was not busy at all. Oh, then comes the paying part where there is no option of not leaving tip behind, they obviously call it as "service charge." As so they tell me how much i need to tip them. So i paid 25thousand huf for the food and all and was told i have to give 3thousand something huf as service charge. Ridiculous! Especially as they will get their tip anyhow, they only do so much. Well, i am writing this review to say that i am sorry to say that i do NOT recommend this place, should you wish to be in a welcoming and friendly environment - oh, and for us: no more family dinner here for sure. (P.s i love to praise restaurants and their service but in this occasion it is just the opposit- and sorry for the...
Úgy tünt mintha a fagyiadag, a világ utolsó fagyikészletéből származott volna.
