The King Returns—Pylsur before Passport Control.

We had a short layover in Keflavík, arriving at that misty Icelandic hour—7am, barely awake, expectations low. But there it was, glowing like a beacon in the terminal: Bæjarins Beztu, open early and serving hot dogs to the worthy.

Even the OG downtown stand doesn’t open until 9am, so this felt like fate. My fiancée, who hadn’t spent the past week with me in Iceland, got to experience the country’s most important culinary export just before boarding. We ordered our morning dogs, grabbed a Kókómjólk, and found ourselves having a perfect Icelandic breakfast. Simple. Sacred. Salty.

As always, the snap of the lamb dog, the raw + crispy onions, and that mysterious remoulade magic made for a bite of pure national identity. Still the best.

Takk fyrir, Bæjarins Beztu—never not there when I need you.

This review is for the stand near the C and D gates. On July 20, 2024, at 19:22, I believe it's possible to determine whose shift it was. At the counter stood a very unfriendly red-haired teenager. Even if I slightly messed up the toppings (forgot about ketchup and mustard, assuming they were standard), that's no reason for the cashier to roll their eyes and make a sour face. It's very unfortunate to encounter such zero service, though fortunately, this is my first such experience in Iceland. The hot dog is ordinary, like in IKEA. If you're hungry, you should get 2-3 of them. I hope owner teaches this boy how to interact with...

I ordered a hotdog from a person working there who was very distracted with his earpods. While being served he reacted very passive agressive and at the end when I asked him if he is happy with his job he got very sarcastic and unpleasent. As a customer I am very displeased with this kind of service and will share this with fellow travellers and friends.

I dont know who you are (boy with red hair working today at 19.00 5th of march) but hopefully you get happy...

This review is for the stand near the C and D gates, as I think there are multiple locations in the airport. Kinda weird ordering system where you have to order at a register, then shuffle over to the actual hot dog stand and tell the guy in there what you ordered. However, the hot dogs are delicious and are at a much better price point than other food in the airport. Plus, they sell hot dog merch here!

First food for arriving flyers because most places in the airport were only for departing flyers. this is the same hotdog brand that’s famous in Iceland. Got their classic hotdog and it was amazing. Sets an exciting mood for your Iceland trip. Highly recommended!
