Restaurant Aura — Restaurant in Iceland

This isn’t the first time I’ve had a bad experience here. Food is overpriced, even for Iceland. More concerning is staff just doesn’t give a flying **, even worse than before. At 8pm they decided to stop serving active tables and sat behind the bar, taking seats from the dining room while six tables went unserved for more water, drink top ups, and asking about desert.

I stay here because it’s convenient. Next time I’ll walk over to the terminal and get a sandwich. The customer service provided by the self checkout will probably be better than what this group of clowns provides.

That being said the 1200 ISK fries was actually quite tasty. Too bad...

If you're staying at the hotel and you're hungry, walk the 300m to eat at the airport. The service and food here are terrible. We ordered a (pretty expensive) burger with fries, both were dry and so rubbery that they basically couldn't be eaten. That was the first time I ever send back food. Both waiters didn't apologize at all, just took it back and offered nothing as compensation.

My wife and I stayed at the Aurora hotel on the last night of our trip. We had an unexpectedly great dinner at this restaurant. It isn't much to look at but the food and service were excellent (we were served by a lovely Croatian lady). If you go make sure you order the tagliatelle carbonara and the lava cake (don't expect chocolate fondant, but it's really tasty). We will for sure come back to eat here when we come...
