The breakfast was pretty good, and the design is very nice, but thats about all the nice things I have to say about this place. When we checled into the hotel at around 2, we asked about the food here and were told that we couldnt make a reservation because the chef was not in yet. Then, when we checked back at about 7, we were told we could not eat there because we didnt have a reservation, and the chef didnt want to stay open until 9:30 (when the restuarant is SUPPOSED to close.) Because of this, we had to drive around for a while until we finally found a gas station and were able to eat. Normally, I would be more understanding of someone not wanting to be overwhelmed with work, but when your restaurant is literally one of the only places to eat for miles, thats a diffferent story. Each of our dishes (lamb, steak frites, tuna tartare, burger) were perfection which is really impressive given that it’s a one man show. My cocktail (Dirty Shirley) was also delicious and so well balanced. The mac and cheese was divine and we got both the chocolate lava cake and the cheesecake for dessert. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the staff made us feel right at home. Huge shoutout to Chef Rob, who went above and beyond with the service, his creativity and personal touch.
