This is a nicely converted barn of an ancient farm, adjacent to the beautiful stone church of Hvalsnes. The name Gola refers to a light breeze. There are days where there is light wind, but it is more likely that there will be stronger wind in these regions. Amazingly and very untypically, they had to irrigate the newly layed turf because of a quite long dry spell. That was actually amazing to see, because we are rather used to the opposite: Excessive rain. The building is new but with wonderful recycled traditional furniture in perfect condition, it is so good to see these beautiful tables and chairs being used. And the view across farmland to the nearby ocean is stunning. The historic Hvalsnes Church is right next to the cafe.
