We have been waiting for this cafe to open and the first visit was lovely! The fish soup was just what we needed for Sunday lunch. The building is new but with wonderful recycled traditional furniture in perfect condition, it is so good to see these beautiful tables and chairs being used. And the view across farmland to the nearby ocean is stunning. The historic Hvalsnes Church is right next to the cafe. This is ... maybe 25 min from the airport going west ( not straight towards Reykjavík) but really worth the visit if you want a beautiful place to chill when you arrive or before you leave. Or anytime!

We went here as it was one of the earlier options serving coffee and breakfast. It was traditional Icelandic fare, this place recently opened (a week ago) by 4 sisters whose family has lived in the area for generations. The current modern look with an appealing view close proximity to the airport and Keflavik drew us here. The food and coffee were just what we needed for our breakfast. Highly recommend.

I stumbled upon Kaffi Gola and was immediately drawn in by its atmosphere. It has that lovely feeling of a local secret. The real highlight for me was the fish soup - the depth of flavor was exceptional and truly memorable. While the salmon bread with egg was satisfactory, the soup is the star of the show here. For a taste of something genuinely delicious and a cozy ambiance, Kaffi Gola is a great find.

This is a nicely converted barn of an ancient farm, adjacent to the beautiful stone church of Hvalsnes. The name Gola refers to a light breeze. There are days where there is light wind, but it is more likely that there will be stronger wind in these regions. Amazingly and very untypically, they had to irrigate the newly layed turf because of a quite long dry spell. That was actually amazing to see, because we are rather used to the opposite: Excessive rain. The people running the cafe originate from that very farm and are very friendly and knowledgeable about this place. It is definitely worth a visit and perhaps you will also be given the opportunity to visit the church which is a truly...

Feel like a local. A perfect place next to the ocean to have a warm homemade soup and feel like local, run by 3 charming local ladies that build this small business in their ancestors lands next to a unique church. You can breath peace seating in a vintage table and eat a salmon toast with home made bread made with these ladies love. If you are around the airport you definitely need to taste a bit of local life...
