How to begin, before I start i do want to give praise to the waiters that work in this god awful place. The waiters were very nice and understanding, and i would have given them A five star review if it didn’t include the food… for the starters we had a pizza and mussels. The mussels were sitting in a sauce that I can only describe as warm water with melted butter and raw onions. The mussels weren’t fresh which was pretty weird because on the other side of the restaurant was a fjord were they catch fresh mussels. And for the pizza I’m pretty sure i can make one with a tortilla like i did as a child and it would have been better. If it wasn’t enough sadly we had to endure the main courses. We had the chicken tikka masala, the salmon, and the lamb. The chicken was the tastiest dish we had this dinner though it was ugly and unappetizing. For the salmon dish, the salmon itself was cooked fine, but it came with burnt potatoes. And when i say burned i mean black as charcoal. And for the cherry on top, we had the lamb. Oh the lamb, i asked for it to be cooked medium and I got it rare. So rare that it could count as a lamb tataki. And in addition the menu said the lamb comes with celery puree but without them telling me turns out there was no more celery and they exchanged it with sweet potato, one of my least favorite foods. Luckily we were smart enough not to get the dessert and ended our dinner with that. Such A horrible and...

This was unfortunately a really poor food experience. I'll start with the good, they had a interesting vegetarian/vegan option which is more than a lot of places on the ring road. The atmosphere was really welcoming and all the decor is wonderful. The portion size of the fish soup was generous and plenty for a meal. When asked about the mussels I was informed that they were not fresh but cooked from frozen which is fair enough as they were not in season when I visited, but a more honest approach would just to adjust the menu according to seasonality. Same goes for the fish of the day which was salmon not sourced anywhere near from the area, which is sad looking at the harbor just next to the restaurant with great opportunity to source fish extremely fresh and locally. The fish I got in the fish soup was far from fresh and honestly felt off. The bread was over leavened and the music coming from the kitchen was way too high.

This might feel like a petty rant but at the price point and the statements on the website of the restaurant these mishaps are simply not acceptable. For the price point the quality has to be higher, until there are changes in the management of this place I'd recommend that people avoid this...

After we booked our camping spot at the hotel we just booked a table in the charming looking dining room. Compare to other places prices are higher and the food ok. It's more like mama's cooking than any outstanding. But good. We had the pumpkin soup and then lamb fillet with mash and asparagus plus carrots. The lamb was nicely done with a grilled fat layer. Wine is a bit overpriced and the red to cold. Anyway a nice evening and if you want to spoil yourself go for it . The first time we had white tables and...

After 6 1/2 hr drive from Reykjavik, we arrived at our cottage to find that there is no food or restaurants miles around. Fortunately, we find this restaurant in the guide book at the cottage and it was only 15km away. So without hesitation we hop back into our car and headed to the restaurant. The service was excellent, and our food arrived very fast. My trout was cooked very well, but unfortunately it was rather tasteless. Luckily I was very hungry at the time, so everything tasted delicious. Lol...

After a long day in Iceland, we got to our Airbnb and we had two options for food. We made a good decision. While everything else closed, this place was open and boy are we glad we came here. Some of the best salmon I have ever had in my entire life and the pizza we got was awesome. We had 8 people and they accommodated us even without a reservation. We had a 7 and 5 year old with us and they loved it. Most I’ve seen them eat! Would absolutely come back just for the 5 star service alone
