When we reached Neil island, we were planning to try food from places other than the resort we were staying in. So we talked to some localites and they suggested us to go this place. We went late at 7:30 at night and talked to Mr Rippon. The way he explained about the food he is going to cook his food was more than enough to convince us. So we ordered octopus, crabs, fish and prawns and some veg curry. As said in a previous review, the food took time to cook since only his family is helping him with the work and we got our food parcelled at 10 PM. But the wait was worth it and rate was good. The food was delicious (both veg and non veg). So we went back again and ordered our lunch at 9:30 AM the next day. This time we had food from the restaurant itself. The entire place has been built by Mr Rippon and his family. He is an artist himself. They have made chairs, designed the entire place, My friends had a great time,. Everybody ate fresh guava plucked from their trees. Then we had lunch which included lobster. Man it was good :). Finding this place and having food from here twice made our Neil island trip more involved with the locals and our experience more complete. I would recommend any foodie visiting Neil island to have food from here. Only thing is order early. Even if you wait, the food is worth it.

My wife and me were relaxing on the bharatpur Beach when we saw a man approaching the people there with a paper asking for food orders. He came to us and we decided to talk to him doe a bit. He talked to us about his family, his stay in Neil since 30 years and his restaurant. He said he will deliver the food to the hotel we stayed which was a good deal. He offered us food for a low price and we were quite surprised. We thought he would not come back with the order. But he told me to wait outside the hotel at 7pm starp (since phone calls are not much of an option here). I went to the gate at 7pm sharp only to see this sincere man Mr.Ripom waiting there with a large bag in his hand which contained the food and banana leafs. We had ordered a lot of crab and differnt types of fish masala. I went to my room to share the food. The pictures are not very appealing but sorry to my photo shooting skills. The taste was of first class. I only regret not able to visit his hotel in person. He had offered me the best sea food in the entire andamans for the comparatively lowest rate. I would recommend visitors to Neil Island to please try his food.

Never judge a book by it's cover!! This is a very apt saying for this place. The restaurant is essentially a part of his house. Ripon the owner is courteous and very down to earth and quiet. The food on the other hand, speaks naah shouts and screams from the rooftops. We are his food for 2 days, the first day the menu had crabs, dal and rice. This was the first time my kids were eating crab and the crab masala was definitely setting the taste bar quite high for them. The fresh ingredients coupled with simple tasty cooking elevated the dish to a different level. The dal was simple but delicious and a perfect accompaniment to the crab The second day, we had lobster, and fish curry with chapathi. Once again the lobster was delicately seasoned and the masala did not have an overpowering taste. The fish curry had a whole fish (not sure of the variety) which was beautifully cooked in the masala. Overall this is a place that is definitely recommended. The icing on the cake is that he delivers the food to your hotel. If you are visiting Neil Island (Shaheed Dweep) don't miss this fantastic food.
