Turtle House — Restaurant in Andaman and Nicobar Islands

In theory, Turtle house has a great view, it’s by the pool, with a cozy set-up and live music to make for a good vibe but reality doesn’t materialize. It was extremely humid (even at 7pm) and we were swamped by mosquitoes. They have 2/3 rotating fans for the tables close to walls and pillars but the rest of the tables are pretty stuffed. While the staff tried their best to find solutions to the heat and mosquitoes, it just didn’t work. We’ve been to other restaurants and hotels on the island and I believe the restaurant set-up at Taj just doesn’t work for meals.

As for the food- it was underwhelming at the best. As vegetarians who don’t eat egg, we only had two options that weren’t salads. Out of the three dishes we ordered, the Caesar salad was the only dish we actually liked (sad, but true)! And the drink we ordered never showed up.

We have been to several other taj properties in India and we have to say that while the property maybe the most beautiful, the food definitely...

Sitting next to the pool with soft breeze rustling through the trees, Turtle House is a must visit for a romantic dinner. The food is beyond amazing and so is the hospitality of the staff. Special shout out to the Chef Jai Singh who personally made sure we had the best evening in Havelock.
