Shoreline — Restaurant in Andaman and Nicobar Islands

What a TAJ EXPERIENCE.. We are staying at a nearby resort and decided to treat ourselves with a dinner at a Taj restaurant. Booked a table and transport by our resort at Shoreline Restaurant in Havelock. Prompt pick up...enter the restaurant and the concerns start. Even though we were booked by our restaurant we were asked for phone number for their records..before we were seated in a half empty restaurant. Before we decided to go to this place for dinner we had looked up the pdf menu online and had picked what we wanted Only to be told that the menu online was put of date...so picked Chat...and this came with spice levels out of scale...could not even have half of it. Dal Makhani...and this was the best dish of the night. The chapatis were just OK.. had better ones at the place we are staying. I ordered the Jol fish curry with rice. Nothing like what I have had previously. If this was a Bengali Jol...it's a completely new version..more like a Kerala fish. The staff and Chef did suggest to rectify but by then we just wanted to get home. In the midst of all this I requested for the wi fi code and was told to have this I had to provide ID proof..(OK not bad...security!)...Interesting though when I got access to the WIFI my phone security and Anti Virus flashes warning...NOT A SECURE SITE. So though some security is good...its a waste if the product / Service is unsecure. After the Taj transport dropped us off..I paid them in full with a generous tip, only to be later asked by our reception that Taj was calling them to say that I had not paid the driver for the service. SO ANNOYING. Always have been proud of the TAJ brand...a huge disappointed and am really hoping this...

This is the multi cuisine restaurant in Taj Exotica, Havelock Island. We came here for lunch and breakfast. The ambience and seating is pretty standard. Nothing that makes it stand out or that disappoints. The food was good. Flavourful. One noteworthy point about the breakfast is that there is no regular spread as you would expect. Here, the buffet spread only consists of the cold kitchen items like breads, fruits, salads etc. For other stuff there is a menu from which you can order items. The concept as mentioned in the flyer on the table is to avoid wastage of food.

I am not sure what I feel about it. It is good in a way as we are wasting less food, you get what you can eat but at the same time, the concept of sumptuous and lavish buffet is a strong memory with five star properties like Taj and this is a...

I thought this whole hotel was absolutely amazing. The food and atmosphere was just perfect. But one of the main things that really made me love this hotel was the amazing service. Everyone was always ready to help out and was always there for me when I was on my stay. But there was a person specifically who really went above and beyond to make sure my family had an amazing stay. Vishal Puri was one of the servers at the buffet where we ate at. Not only did he provide us incredible service by recommending foods and helping us out, he did all of this with a positive attitude and a smile on his face.
