When I stepped into Asta's Desi Darbar, I was ready for a flavor-filled adventure, but what I experienced left my taste buds in a bit of a pickle. Let's dig into this culinary journey, shall we? ๐ฝ๏ธ๐
The ambience at Asta's Desi Darbar was a mixed bag of ingredients. ๐๏ธ While the atmosphere was cozy like a warm, freshly baked loaf of bread ๐, the decor was as plain as vanilla ice cream ๐ฆ. It provided a comfy backdrop for our food escapade.
Now, let's talk about service! The staff here deserves a high-five ๐๏ธ (or should I say a high-fork ๐ด?).
Onto the star of the show โ the dishes! First up, Dragon Paneer ๐๐ง. It was as saucy as a ketchup waterfall ๐, almost like a tomatoey tsunami ๐ ๐! The quantity was decent, but the saucy sauce stole the spotlight. So, that's bad.
Asta's Special Chicken Keema Egg ๐ฅ๐ was like a secret menu item. It didn't win any beauty contests with its looks, but the taste was a pleasant surprise. Imagine a treasure chest of chicken keema hidden inside 10 egg halves! ๐ฅ๐ Worth a try, I must say.
Thread Chicken ๐ was a bit of a tangled web, like noodles gone rogue. Picture small chicken pieces wrapped in noodle threads like a cozy sweater ๐งถ. Unfortunately, there wasn't much flavor to unravel.
But hold your chopsticks, because Chilli Garlic Chicken Noodle ๐ถ๏ธ๐ kind of saved the day! It didn't have a kick, a punch, but had a bit of pizza oregano flair ๐ almost dominating the dish. This dish was like a noodle hug, perfect for sharing with your fellow food adventurers.
In a nutshell, Asta's Desi Darbar offers a menu as diverse as a buffet ๐ฝ๏ธ. While the ambience and service hit the sweet spot, some dishes left me feeling like I missed a flavor train. It's a place where you might discover hidden gems or take a bite into the unknown. ๐๐ด๐คทโโ๏ธ

ย ย ย Read moreThis seems to be a new place on the block. Might have opened a few months ago. It's located just behind the Mosque near NGGOs colony. The restaurant is located in a slightly congested area, but the owner or the designer has done a very good job in managing the space, especially on the upper deck.
The place doesn't seem to be too crowded and the ambience is pretty good, especially on the top, considering the open sides making it well ventilated and a shed on top to prevent rain from ruining your dining moments. The lighting arrangement is absolutely pretty.
Now about the food, it was quite delicious and not to forget the insane quantity which was definitely worth the money. The dishes are decently priced. They have a good variety of indo-chinese and tandoori dishes on their menu. We tried the Veg Manchuria, Apollo Fish, and the Reshmi Chicken Kebab. All 3 were well prepared, especially the chicken being extremely juicy and tender. Definitely a good...
