Hotel SVD — Restaurant in Andhra Pradesh

Had a lunch at this place yesterday. It is not a restaurant. It is a kind of highway dhaba with AC provided. Items including starters and biryanis are not comparable with other restaurants in srikakulam. Their taste will attaract the local labour, but not the people who prefers fine dining. Prices are so much higher than other fine-dining restaurants.

Coming to staff, Since this dhaba was established that intend to provide meals to working villagers in the past, eventhough it is renovated with AC and sofas, Their staff are still old generation people those who serves meals in mass style dhaba. They don’t listen to customers and their requirements. They were so rude. They were moving to other tables in the middle while serving my table. Here soft drinks are provided with glass bottles to void charging people at mrp price. Instead, they provide Thumbsup 300 ml bottle and surprisingly its price is Rs.30. Disappointing thing is, I had to beg many servers there to open the cap of that glass bottle. Atlast It was opened at the end of my lunch.

Coming to portion/size of the items, please note if you are more appetising person, make sure that you order two dum biryanis for single person. Each of cost 320 rupees. So to get enough chicken biryani for one person, yes you have to pay Rs. 640 here and please don’t expect Hyderabadi style dum biryani. It is just a flavoured rice more of a kind of pulav with very lesser spice. But that’s ok. I don’t complain on taste. That is their style of recipe. I ordered chicken 65 and we are two people. Hardly we got 8 tiny pieces and cost is 330 Rupees. I am getting the same item for the price of 250 Rupees with double quantity and delicious taste.

Coming to ambience, They are maintaining good AC, But for the crowd that were present in this mess, it was suffocating for us. And people will wait for them in behind of you to get your table while you were having your food. This was so weird. Also don’t get surprised if someone will occupy any of your chairs in your table. Waiters here are so kind that they adjust any single customers by provide some space in your dining table. Probably they didn’t replace spoons and glasses for long time. The still spoons and it’s designs are soo funny you can’t even find them in your grandma home. Below is the summary of our bill yesterday.

Total 2 persons. Ordered below items. chicken dumplings biryani - 3nos - 960 Chicken 65 - 1nos - 330 Loose prawns - 1nos - 380 soft drinks - 2nos - 60

items cost - 1730 Hold there. Above said amount is without GST. with 5% GST, below is the final bill amount.

Total amount to be paid: 1816.5

Thanks to this dhaba. They provided me 50 paisa discount. So that my reduce bill is Rs. 1816 for two members (still I am hungry guys)

And the the server who served our food is a nice guy, he won’t let us to decide how much tip we have to provide him. He politely demanded Rs.50 and I had to give him. Because that’s his right to get the tip of desired amount. He is the same server who refused to open my thumsup glass bottle.

Final note to customers:

Guys, ups and downs are common in our life. Don’t be depressed while visiting these dhabas. It’s just your karma was bad at that time. You need to learn lessons from these incidents.

Dear SVD owner, This is my humble request. Please recruit some young waiters and servers.

i went to the restaurant becz i heard a good review in recent times and heard that it was very pocket friendly brunch apart i had a bad experience few years back and i put those aside and re-vised this restaurant but i had same experience........ambience was very 😶 bad old cutlery 🤧 no hygiene maintenance 🤮 ....receiving was not at all good i myself fond a table and sat there some one saw me but i thought he was random costumer but later on he was the staff he saw me but he was busy on phone and chit chatting with other staff didn't take the order or not instructed me to where to sit 👎👎👎

i went at 8:50 pm and ordered chicken dum birayini they said not there (i went on dinner time and birayini was not there it seems )🙃 soo i gone for chicken fried rice which was sucks 0/5 ---- rice was very less plate full of veggies was added roasted rice i think it was left over one smells like roasted ....simply it was like a veg rice but with 2 chicken pieces add for garnishing 🥗 and taste less which cost me 240 rs ......it was same as road side fried rice.....even road side one serve for 120 rs which was very much better i think soo .....not a pocket friendly restaurant.......even wash basin vessel was not even good it was unclean with others food 🤢 over all very bad restaurants they are spreading false promotions by they were best but very bad...

I often visit this restaurant. This is Srikakulam's so-called top-rated restaurant. But that's in the past; nowadays, the quality of the food and the taste of the biryani, especially the Dum biryani, are the worst, and the quality of the rice is not too good as well. The reception isn't good. The ambience is not good. The staff is not good, and there is no proper hygiene. There is nothing special about this restaurant, like they excel at a particular item. The person at the reception is rude and headstrong.May be it's a famous restaurant and people will come anyhow irrespective of the taste, quality and prices so the bad attitude of the receptionist and staff business is good one day remember one day the business will be gone people expects some respect or politeness in...
