Khatirdari | Restaurant, Sweets & Bakery — Restaurant in Assam

The name of the restaurant, Khatirdari, signifies hospitality, but unfortunately, it does not live up to that promise at all.

My family initially planned to visit Grill Republica, near Decathlon in Azara, but were drawn in by the impressive lighting at Restaurant Khatirdari just beside it and thought to give it a try. Upon entering, we received the menu, and after a brief look, we placed our order. However, despite multiple attempts to get the staff's attention, they ignored. After about 20 minutes, a lady finally took our order.

To our disappointment, we then had to wait another 20 minutes for our food to arrive. We barely managed to take a few bites before leaving most of it untouched. Frustrated, we quickly paid the bill but felt compelled to share our feedback. We asked the staff to call the owner, who seemed reluctant to hear about our experience, claiming he was unaware and would call the chef.

When the chef arrived, he remarked that the food lacked butter, attributing our dissatisfaction to that and then casually walked away. It was clear they didn’t care about our experience, even after we paid. The restaurant's appealing exterior couldn’t make up for the poor service and food quality, which ultimately ruined our evening. I won't be returning, and I recommend thinking twice before visiting if you’re seeking a satisfying meal; ambience alone won't satisfy...

Hygiene & Ambience were excellent.

The food (veg tandoor platter & tea) was stale. The tea, the onions on the side, the tikkas were all stale and reheated. If made fresh, they would've tasted excellent but unfortunately they weren't.

The service was the worst part, the person taking the order didn't know their own menu. They brought the wrong quantity in the order. The items in the bill were billed higher and an excuse was given that the prices in the menu were wrong. Even the attitude of the staff was unprofessional and demeaning. They even brought the wrong amount of change.

The price of food was decent, but for the quality they served it should be lower, I would've given them a 3star, however the excuse that the prices in their own menu were wrong is the reason they lose this point.

I would suggest you stick with commonly ordered food since the uncommon food would be stale. Since the staff is new, I would suggest you ask them to write down the order and check the prices...

The aesthetics of the place is very contemporary. Eye catching from the highway. Unfortunately, that is all that can be said about this restaurant. Food is average. Service is PATHETIC. Untrained staff including the non concerned Manager. Waiters are not familiar with the menu. Food is served in containers with messy and dripping exteriors. Shockingly, no fork or spoon were laid out. On request the waiter brought in 4 forks for the two of us dining. The Manager was called and apprised. Yet the Manager did not feel it necessary to give us spoons. Very sad state of affairs. The owners have invested substantially to give the joint an attractive look.
