Worst Pathetic in terms of food taste and service. Visited with family on 16/7/23 for lunch. When we entered no other customer was there, we 8 (including 2 childs) seated and placed our orders. After 15/20 minutes another group of 12 person entered and took there seats. Till then the half of the floor was wet and not cleaned. We thought with the 4 types of varieties in our order it will take maximum 30/40 minutes to serve. But it took them almost 50 minutes to serve our two thalies ( one variety among four). At that time the other group of 12 people lost there cool, because their order was not taken till then. So all of them left. Seeing them doing so another group of 4 people who came later and was waiting for their order also left. Now coming to the food part. When we received 2 swargadeu pork thalies, we could not find their iconic and star dish the Tupula bhat. When asked about that, they said today it is not available. I said you could have mentioned it earlier, then we might have not even placed our order. The taste if pork items were avarage, not too great. After 20 minutes of receiving the pork thalies 2 veg thalies arrived. We had ordered one chicken curry along with those 2 veg thalies, and specially instructed them that this curry is for the kids, please do not add chili there. Anyways till the chicken curry arrived, the kids had finished half of the rices. And before the chicken curry, 4 fish thalies and 1 duck curry arrived. At last when the chicken curry was there, it was full of chili, unbearable for kids. The duck curry was also full of spices and chili. Found only tasty thing is the boiled pork curry.
At last the khir came, I thought I will ask additional of this for everyone to give our tongue a bit of releif from the spice of the duck curry. But it tasted like rice flour mixed with water. Please never go there to waste your...
Read moreIt’s situated in a housing area in Christian Basti, the surrounding is very calming. For the atmosphere inside, the restaurant has a good sitting space, the staff is very cooperative and has a good time management and the food is good too.
To start with the food we ordered: Chicken Thali 2x - 250 per thali. Pork Dry Fry 1x - 220 Costed us around 770 for two persons including water and extra tupula rice 1x for 30.
The chicken thali had steamed brown rice covered in banana leaf, one papad, kheer, chicken curry, plain yellow dal, aloo pitika (mashed potato), aloo bhaji (fried potato) & three more chutney items one of which was sweet, one a little filled with spices and one was a mix of brinjal and spices. The thali in itself was an appetite pleaser, gives you all the taste at once and every particular thing had it’s unique taste and was delicious while being traded in a very reasonable price.
To talk about the pork dry fry, it was my personal favourite, it was cooked with onions, spices and sauces most probably as it tasted very good and the pieces were of very pleasurable size to consume and had a good combination of meat and fat, for which again the taste is incomparable and the price being set very reasonably.
They even provide you with a bowl full of salad, chillies and onions as sides.
Now to talk about the staff, they were really very friendly and cooperative people and really had a good time management in serving the food.
The environment inside is calming, they played soft music and it was very relaxing, it’s spacious for people to sit comfortably and the utensils used were very up to the mark in terms of cleanliness.
Overall, loved everything about the place, so it’s a 5/5 and would surely recommend you...
Read moreOnce a wise man said that good food is not what satisfy our hunger but it's a way of living our lives.
In last year November,2022 me and my partner went for a movie at city centre, guwahati. After finishing the movie, it was almost 9.45 pm and we couldn't find any restaurant or any food Court nearby so we started to walk back to our hotel and then we suddenly saw a red colour food cart, we approached the cart and ordered our food. While waiting for the food, the owner of the food cart Mrs. Juri gently smiled at us and enthusiastically asked us to sat inside the newly opened Ethnic food Restaurant Koupat. We accepted her invitation and we went inside and began to talk about our journey. The conversation was so organic that nobody had to force anything and the exchange of thouhts were automatic.
It's the cordial feeling we got that day that brought us today again to this restaurant. Little incidents like this makes me feel that life is incomplete without such experiences, life is beautiful in the tiniest details.
About food, the restaurant offers traditional Assamese style thalis and dishes. We ordered one Swargadew pork thali and one chicken thali. All the items are delicious and devoid of any masalas. Any food enthusiast who loves food and good vivs should...
