A couple of years ago, I had lunch at Mousumi Hotel while returning from an exam. Back then, the hotel was located on the left side if you were heading from Lakhimpur to Tezpur (or right side if it was the other way around—yes, directions and roads always seem to play tricks). I still remember that meal vividly—great taste, generous portions, and fast, friendly service. Everything about it was spot on. It was the kind of lunch that makes you loosen your belt and smile all the way home.
So naturally, I returned this time with high hopes—and with family.
But alas! Something was missing. The taste that once danced on my tongue had now decided to take a holiday. It wasn’t bad, but it just didn’t hit the same. Maybe it was nostalgia playing games, or maybe the chef decided to take it easy that day. The service, to be fair, was still good. Quick and polite staff, no complaints there.
Now, let’s talk about the location—and here’s the twist. The new location is much better than before. Big space, nice decor, and a huge parking area where your car can breathe and stretch while you do the same. It’s the perfect place to eat and chill, especially after a long road trip or a busy day.
So, here’s the bottom line: If you’ve never been before, you’ll probably like it. But if you, like me, are chasing the ghost of a perfect meal from two years ago, be warned—it might not taste quite the same. Still, a solid pit stop, with good service, nice ambiance, and a relaxing vibe. Just don’t bring too much nostalgia...
Read moreIf you usually have your meal at home most of the time then don't visit this hotel. It is most crouded and feels like a slum area. Everywhere shouting and howling. No proper infrastructure . It feels like having food on a public function . And we wait for seat to be free and the dice collecting workers are always in a rush if you just slightly standup from your table, they will collect the dice immediately without even asking you. The hotel is always in a rush after completing the meal you could even seat their for 2minute . And the hotel so narrow and compact that you can't even move freely. I don't know why the hotel is so much in rush, the quality of food is also not so special it as usual. And the price is also a bit over price then usual. According to me this hotel is not suitable for having meal. It was a disgusting experience for me. I feel like I offered the shopkeeper money with no goods. And even I couldn't have my meal properly since I had made a mistake of standing up on the bens and the dice collecting workers collect my dice immediately and it all wiped away. I would never visit this hotel...
