The culinary offerings at the Singpho Restaurant do not fully reflect the authentic gastronomic traditions of the Singpho community. Traditional Singpho cuisine is characterized by its minimal use of spices, reliance on fresh and locally sourced ingredients, and preference for cooking techniques such as boiling or steaming, which aim to preserve the natural flavors and nutritional integrity of the ingredients. However, the dishes served at this establishment appear to diverge from these core principles. The preparations tend to incorporate an assortment of spices that are not typically associated with traditional Singpho cooking. In particular, several dishes that are intended to be boiled or lightly seasoned exhibit flavor profiles that more closely resemble Assamese cuisine, rather than adhering to the more restrained and subtle palate typical of Singpho food. This fusion, whether intentional or inadvertent, compromises the authenticity and cultural specificity of the dishes. Moreover, the seasoning used in purportedly “boiled” items often seems incongruent with traditional preparation methods, suggesting an attempt to retrofit conventional Singpho dishes with ingredients and techniques drawn from other regional culinary practices. While culinary evolution and cross-cultural exchange are natural and often enriching processes, the deviation here appears less like innovation and more like a dilution of the original culinary identity. While the restaurant may appeal to a broader audience familiar with Assamese flavors, it does not faithfully represent the authentic taste and preparation ethos of the Singpho people.

Guys I want to share my personal experience having after visit the restaurant and taste the food. I was realized that, as their special is the Tupula Rice, which attracted me. But, they didn't make the Tupula Rice properly, they just make it like normal and just serve us after rolling with the Leaf. And the Daal was only Hot Water with mixing Turmeric and Salt, no Daal found. The rice also didn't steam properly... The restaurant haven't space to seat properly... And also there was a room to seat on floor, we tried to eat our lunch in that room, but its not easy to eat anything after seating on that arrangements. Before visit to the restaurant, my expectations is so excited to take the attractive foods as mentioned on online or others reviews but all are worst...

Singpho Shat Gawk is a beautiful story about resilience, hard work and dedication. From a very humble beginning and starting with such an offbeat concept in Tezpur, Manash Da and his family has served us and people of Tezpur very flavourful dishes with their own unique way. Now, the new avatar of Singpho is more atmospheric and more spacious where you can bring your family and friends and have an authentic connection with the food. Lots of parking spaces, simple and minimal design space and a new menu. I had an amazing experience and hope you all will support Singpho Shat Gawk.

We recently visited a lovely restaurant called Singhpho, and we were genuinely impressed by everything about the place. Located in a peaceful area, the atmosphere was calm and inviting—perfect for a relaxed meal.

What truly stood out was the warmth and hospitality. The manager, an elderly gentleman...He personally spoke to every customer, checking in to see how they liked the food and sharing little insights about how it was made. It gave the whole experience a personal and homely touch.

The service was smooth and efficient—our order arrived quickly without any long wait, and the waiters were polite and attentive throughout. And of course, the food itself was absolutely delicious. Each dish was full of flavor and clearly made with care.

Overall, everything about Singhpho was perfect. It’s rare to find a place in tezpur where you feel so welcomed and satisfied. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food and a...
