For a first-time customer in any restaurant, the things that give a first impression are the ambience, behaviour of staff and the food menu. I recently visited this US Pizza outlet for the first time with a friend and we were impressed by the ambience. The restaurant is maintained neat and clean, has a good arrangement of tables and the decor gives an amazing vibe! We checked the menu and were impressed by the variety of food options, from pasta to tacos and quesadillas to pizzas and mocktails and shakes. We took a lot of time to decide what to eat and wanted to try a quesadilla and pizza. But, to our disappointment, we were told that there is no Mexican item available. We asked if it was only for that day and we were told that many items of the menu are usually not available. With no other option left, we went for a pasta and pizza, which tasted good but could have been better. The mocktails were however quite good. Apart from this, I feel the way up to the floor of the restaurant needs to be marked properly; may be some signage can be put on the staircase walls to indicate the location of the restaurant. Overall, our first impression was not so good and we had a mixed experience. Considering the brand value of US Pizza, I feel the Tinsukia outlet can make some improvements and has the potential to stand out as one of the best restaurants...
Read moreI recently ordered the Italian Margherita Pizza from US PIZZA, Tinsukia, opting for it over the American Margherita variant despite the significant price difference, with the expectation of a more refined and authentic Italian-style preparation. Unfortunately, the overall experience did not meet these expectations in terms of product quality, although the customer service was commendable.
Upon initial service, the pizza arrived with a visibly burnt crust, which significantly compromised the taste and texture. I promptly brought this to the staff’s attention, and to their credit, they responded quickly and courteously by preparing and serving a fresh replacement. This responsive service is appreciated and deserves acknowledgment.
However, even in the second attempt, the pizza was topped with plainly chopped raw tomato pieces placed directly over the cheese base. This approach deviates noticeably from the classical Italian Margherita pizza, which traditionally features a balanced combination of tomato sauce (typically San Marzano or similar), fresh mozzarella, and fresh basil, often baked into the crust rather than added as raw toppings post-bake. The presentation and flavor profile, as a result, lacked the harmony and authenticity expected from an Italian-style pizza, especially at a premium...
Read moreDecided to give this place a shot for a special date night, drawn by the positive reviews. Let me lay out our experience.
Cutting right to the chase - the food, which is the heart of this review, left much to be desired. We opted for the Quattro Carni Pizza (divided into four quarters with pepperoni, cajun chicken, fiery chicken, and BBQ chicken topped with Mozzarella), along with Chicken Popcorn.
The pizza felt homemade, but not in a good way. The base dough lacked the desired texture, flavor, and lightness. The toppings were a mixed bag – each quarter had a distinct taste, but not all in a good sense. Some slices tasted off while others were just okay. The common base sauce gave a similar undertone, and the scarcity of Mozzarella cheese was noticeable. The pizza slicing was uneven, as if the chef's heart wasn't in it.
Moving on to the Chicken Popcorn, it delivered exactly as described – small chicken pieces coated and fried. Unfortunately, it lacked any distinctive flavor or excitement. It was just as the name suggests.
Summing up, the food didn't match up to its price tag. I can't comment on location and service, perhaps someday I'll gather the courage to venture back for another taste test at the...
