We visited Main Street Cafe and Restaurant on the first day of the new year, 2019. According to me, I had a very bad experience regarding the foods served at this place. One thing I would truly accept that the shelves are all extremely decorated and when you enter, the wall leading straight to the entrance has a "FOOD" LED hanging display which looks just WOW! The interior designing is quite charming, but still the place is incomplete, to mention some abnormalities, I would like to mention that the basin at the handwash section does not have a trash bin for discarding wastes.
Now coming to the food service: The thing that we had ordered were: (i) Nan (ii) Chicken Butter Masala (iii) Hakka Noodles (VEG) (iv) Prawn Chilli (v) Ice Cream (Vanilla) (vi) Chilli Paneer (Taken as an alternative to Prawn Chilli)
To very true, the plate which served the "Prawn Chilli" was the worst of all. The prawns were all rotten and was fully spoilt. Whilst serving the waiters just ignored the quality of food that they had served. It felt like they were serving the prawns that had been picked from a "drain". Upon complaints they took back the plate but still they kept on arguing that their food service is quite good. And also last but not the least, the sauce in the Chilli Paneer was very neutral. It was not at all spicy, I don't know how do they call it as a sauce even. Except this everything was fine, the interior design is just unignorable and the waiters' behavior was too good. I would like the manager of this restaurant that they must introduce flexible payment modes like Mobile wallet systems like PayTM, Google Pay. This time my review is very bad, and I would expect that somebody out there would surely read my review and they would correct their flaws. I would look forward to a better service in future service and that I could submit a positive...
Read moreNice experience! Quality food, good variety is available. Quantity and quality both are good, price is appropriate. Nice behaviour towards customers. The drinks available are a must-try. The interiors look vibrant at moments, yet classic at the inside, with a bit more privacy there. One of the very few restaurants in Bardhaman that maintained its quality and reputation. Dishes we tried today are Kashmiri Pulao, Lahori Chicken, Blue Lagoon, Black Mojito. Today we tried continental dishes: Chicken Al Ajillo, Chicken Parmesan, and surprisingly it was very delicious, unlike other places we didn't have a disappointing experience here. The Chicken Al Ajillo was a bit more salty, probably a mistake. The taste may not be exactly authentic, but it was similar considering the ingredients used in the recipe. The quantity of servings is little less compared to the price. The condiments and accompaniments are always taken care of pretty well here. It was really a...
Read moreOne of the better restaurants in Bardhaman I must say. Detailed review follows:
Location: Near Purbasha bus stand, well visible from the main street for its brightly illuminated lights. Parking won't be a problem as there is a plenty of space by the service road.
Ambience: Nicely decorated with lights and objects. Interiors were clean. There was an attached basin with washroom.
Service: Staffs have been welcoming with warm gestures. All the food we ordered was served in about 15-20 mins.
Food: We ordered Lachcha Paratha, Chicken tikka butter masala and Lahori chicken. All were delicious to taste. Photos attached.
Cost: Spent nearly 900 for a dinner of 3 people. Cost is well justified for the quality and taste of the food served.
Overall: Highly recommended. You...
