A Homestyle Haven in the Heart of the City

If you’re anywhere near the area and craving authentic, soul-satisfying Punjabi fare, Bobby’s Punjabi Dhaba is not just an option—it’s a necessity. A true gem in a neighborhood short on great Indian food, this place serves up comforting, flavor-packed dishes that feel like they’ve come straight from a Punjabi home kitchen.

Let’s start with the Parathas—arguably some of the best you’ll find outside of North India. Whether it’s the classic Aloo Paratha or one of their many variations, each is generously stuffed, perfectly crisped on the outside, and served piping hot. I’ve made multiple visits, and the consistency in quality has impressed me every time.

Their Rajma Chawal deserves a special mention—not your usual run-of-the-mill version, but one with a unique twist in flavor that’s both nostalgic and refreshing. The Baingan da Bharta, my personal favorite, is smoky, well-spiced, and cooked with a finesse that’s rare to find even in more upscale Indian restaurants.

Other menu highlights include Kadhi Pakoda, Dal Makhani, and Channa Masala, all staples that are anything but ordinary here. Each curry is distinct, well-balanced, and true to traditional flavors without being overly greasy or heavy.

And then there’s the Patiala Lassi—a showstopper. Served in a massive brass tumbler, this rich, creamy yogurt drink is as much an experience as it is a beverage. It’s indulgent, sweet, and often best shared. For lighter appetites, they also offer Delhi and Bangalore-sized versions.

Despite being a popular spot, especially on weekends, Bobby’s handles the crowd with impressive efficiency. The service is quick, courteous, and organized—qualities that elevate the overall experience beyond just great food.

In short, Bobby’s Punjabi Dhaba is a lifesaver for anyone seeking hearty, flavorful, and authentic North Indian food. Whether you’re a homesick student or a curious foodie, this place is well worth the visit (and the wait).

Best For: Comfort food cravings, weekend family outings, and...

Review of Our Meal at Bobby Dhaba

After a long journey, we enjoyed delicious Punjabi dishes at Bobby Dhaba. Here's a review of each item:

  1. Makki Paratha (Cornmeal Paratha) Makki Paratha, made from cornmeal, is a winter favorite in Punjab, often paired with sarson ka saag (mustard greens).

Texture and Taste Coarse and slightly sweet, this paratha has a delightful crunch and earthy flavor.

Experience Eating makki paratha is a cozy, rustic experience, especially with ghee and sarson ka saag.

  1. Gobi Paratha (Cauliflower Stuffed Paratha) Gobi Paratha is a popular breakfast item stuffed with spiced cauliflower.

Texture and Taste Soft and flaky with a slightly crunchy filling, it has a savory, aromatic flavor.

Experience Each bite is warm and flavorful, perfect with yogurt or pickle.

  1. Paneer Paratha (Cottage Cheese Stuffed Paratha) Paneer Paratha is a rich, indulgent paratha filled with spiced cottage cheese.

Texture and Taste Soft with a creamy, mildly spiced filling, it's savory and balanced.

Experience Luxurious and comforting, it pairs well with raita or spicy chutney.

  1. Methi Paratha (Fenugreek Leaf Paratha) Methi Paratha is made with fresh fenugreek leaves, adding a nutritious twist.

Texture and Taste Soft and layered, with a slightly bitter, aromatic taste.

Experience Nutritious and flavorful, it's great for a healthy breakfast or snack with curd or pickle.

Punjabi Lassi Punjabi Lassi is a thick, creamy yogurt drink, perfect with meals.

Sweet Lassi Smooth, rich, and slightly tangy, often flavored with cardamom or rose water.

Salty Lassi Savory with salt and roasted cumin, it's refreshing and aids digestion.

Experience Lassi is cooling and soothing, balancing well with spicy parathas. It's a beloved drink in Punjab and beyond.

Summary The variety of parathas—makki, gobi, paneer, and methi—each offered unique flavors and textures. Paired with refreshing Punjabi lassi, they made for a satisfying and...

Not worth the hype it has at all. Dont be fooled by the huge crowd you would see, this place see low to mediocre food. First off, we have to wait for 1 hr to even get a seat and after that another half hr for the food. We have to write our own orders and the menu doest even hv prices. We had ordered: 3 lassi, 1 paneer paratha, 1 paneer bhurji, 1 Makke di roti with sarso da saag and 2 gulab jamun. Total cost:1080/- The jamuns were yum, lassi mediocre. Paneer bhurji was quite good as well but lesser quantity. Same with sarso ka saag. Now the makke di roti was not that great. It was not cooked properly and loaded with nutella. Not even actual butter. And even cooked in some palm oil and not ghee. Similarly the paratha was bad, loaded with nutella making it salty and very thin. I mistook it for roti actually. The paratha had some raw spots and too less fillings. First off the fact it didnt have actual butter and ghee but had nutella and some random oil really put me off. Like how are they so famous selling punjabi food with such low quality material and high prices. And then raw food? Its understandable that it is quite Rushed with a small place and less workers and large crowd, but that doesnt justify that they can sell raw food after making us wait for so long. The management of the whole place is very weak and they seriously cant handle large crowds. Even the owner is quite rude with his helpers and legit shouting the orders at his chefs. It may seem ok at the start but later while eating its honestly very...

This restaurant not even deserves the single star. I have list of reasons why I'm giving minimum star. 1. No proper arrangements for customers who wait after reservations. 2. Very rude staffs. 3. The restaurant is very small, seating capacity is max of 20. Waiting time is 1.5 - 2 hrs. 4. Very limited menu. 5. Poor Taste (I must say this herr, after 1.5 hrs. Waiting we got the table, it took 15 mins. Just to get first item which was pre ordered while reserving the table. All the sabjis, curries had no salt n spice. I had a doubt whether are making Lassi or Buttermilk, because the lassi sorry the Bahubali lassi what they call had no flavour. Neither sweet nor salt, it was just a buttermilk in a big glass, over all very disappointment with the taste) 5. Price - the menu what they give us will not have any sort of price and quantity. The owner charges however he wants, they not even provide you the receipt). 6. This restaurant is highly cosy - you can have big fat buffet at this price is a good star hotel, I'm sure. 7. People handling - these people must know how to handle the crowd. Conclusion: People visit here by seeing the name, if the issues like what is mentioned above continues seriously you people loose your customers.

Few weeks back visited this place on a Saturday night while entering in Bengaluru. There closing time is 10:30pm, but I called to the restaurant number if they will take orders at 10:20pm. He politely said: koi gal nahi, tussi aao 😊. It was close to fully packed at that time of night. Serves only pure vegetarian food with lots of butter 😉. We have ordered one paneer curry, chapattis. Curry was different than normal paneer curry, kind of tomato onion gravy/chutney but with less oil and masala. I loved it. Service was good. Not an expensive restaurant. I checked few reviews before visiting this place, few people have mentioned about the rude behaviour of owner and slow service by staff, so what I noticed is, one of the waiter is little different than others, he was doing his job with a smile, but yes little late, but I don't think anyone should have problem with his service. One should feel happy that person is employed and happy. Owner is not rude- that's how Punjabi people talk, and in that environment where restaurant was fully packed, owner has to shout, it is dhaba so that can be expected.
