It was totally horrible experience. Looks like +ve reviews WRITTEN HERE ARE JUST PAID. Don't waste money and time and especially special occasions on this place. It's total waste of money and time.BAKWASS. I HAVE NO WORDS TO EXPRESS. THEY MAKE FOOD OF THEIR OWN CHOICE WHICH NOT EVERY INDIAN LIKE. I can write for whole day how bad was the experience. Take your own risk to go to this place. Horrible, pathetic, disastrous place. Totally useless place. No tables were booked and they act as if they have so much demand. Only one waiter who is so Errogant and useless, only one chef I guess who is doesn't want to cook for customers but for himself. Useless , waste of money. Too hyped by themselves actually. I don't think any body would really like to spend time and money on such place. DONT GO. TAKE MY WORDS. I would have given negative rating rather 1 star, if Google would allowed me. Don't spoil your special day. You can go to Hotel Taj and many more 5 to 7 star restaurants with the cost you are paying here. We celebrated many time in many 5 and 7 star restaurants but never had got disappointed. It's not like we are going for the first time to such place and got fooled . We know what service we got for out 10k money( I wish I would have donated this money to orphanage instead of doing charity on such people). Literally we didn't get to eat happily. Such a useless and disastrous place it is. Only 2 tables were booked and we were told not more than one table is available at the time of booking, seriously. How many lies they tell just to earn few thousand. If they get 2 tables booked its more than sufficient for them I guess. I also asked the waiter why other table are free, and he gave some irrelevant reason. I really don't know how to teach lesson to such people. There is one more trap, they make you pay at the time of booking so that you cant change mind seeing their place😡🙄. There was NO ambience😡 , there was NO taste in food😡, there was NO variety😡, there was so good service😡, there was NO nothing great then why do they expect so much money???? Seriously. They have 5 course nd 7 course, so called meal which are their own choice not of our choice. They serve what their so called CHEF can prepare. We have tasted food all over Europe by the way, to make it clear here. We have spent lot of our time in Europe countries. (I am just not saying anything which I don't know). I was really mad on waiter and So called CHEF. BuT JUST CONTROLLED COZ I HAD SPECIAL DAY. We are basically fooled ad cheated( they didn even inform what items they serve while booking and ESPECIALLY WHAT ALL THEY CANT PROVIDE,INFACT CANT COOK). Fact of the matter Chef knows only 5-7 items thats all. Anyone who is reading my review please don't get cheated and waste your day and money here. It's a humble advice and request. Let me explain there so called Menu. I could see in 2years back review also same dish, I mean seriously. 😅 1st dish- Bruschetta , only ONE topped with avocado and tomato; 2nd- Some Butter fruit , pumpkin family fruit burnt and smelling like candle only 2 pieces which had literally no taste; 3rd- salad, which was again very very less with full of sourness; 4th is main dish it seems- which is only veggies, that too potato, broccoli, carrot , baby corn and each were I guess 2-3 slices with Hammas,God seriously, pathetic it was; last Desert - They made a favour giving choices here, we were glad🙄, and definitely we didn like that too, horrible. I was shocked seeing food and asked do you have your own garden or so to grow organic vegetables answer was NO, OUTSOURCED, I am sure bread they were serving was also not baked by them, CHEF just sauted veggies that's all. Then what is the justification for such a high price. Seriously it is totally cheating and fooling customer. Any cook can prepare more than 50 dishes where this chef can prepare only 5-7. JUST...
Read moreWe had an unfortunate experience at Grasshopper. While I would not normally write a review, I feel that the overall experience was so atrocious that I had to share it in the hope that the people in charge take note of it. We had booked a 7 course lunch for four people on Saturday, May 17. Three of us were vegetarians and one was non-vegetarian. The appetizers were different, although one of the dishes which was supposed to be fermented leek water tasted only of excess salt - made us wish that the chefs taste their creations before serving to their customers! The appetizers were interesting (with the exception of the leek dish) and we looked forward to the other courses. The salad was ordinary but the real problem were the two main courses. The first one was gnocchi and we have never had such bad gnocchi preparation. The gnocchi for some reason was pan fried and was inedible - chewy, taste only of the oil used for frying them, and with a texture that made me think of badly done aloo tikki. So I ate the sauce and left almost all the pieces of the gnocchi behind. One of our party threw up at this point. It was definitely related to the food. Not a single person came to enquire about this. If that was a disappointment, the next main course was a disaster. It was a beet dish and the beet tasted only of vinegar as if it had been pulled out of a can and not even washed before being plated. The puree underneath it tasted rancid and the whole dish was so unappetising and impossible to eat. Did the chefs at least taste the beets before serving the dish? The presentation was good but it was unpalatable. We sent the dishes back and nobody came out to ask why we sent back the main courses. There was no manager of the restaurant other than the poor waiter who seemed lost. To pay around 4500 Rs for a single person for this kind of food and indifferent attitude is galling! The non-vegetarian portions of the mains were dispropotionately large. Our guest sent back the second mains without touching it - it was a large chunk of meat smothered in a sauce. Were there even chefs inside or were there only assistants since nobody seemed concerned why the dishes were being sent back? All four of us have wide experience of this kind of food and we all felt that something was definitely spoilt - the cheese, oil...? The dessert was also ordinary. It is a shame that a place that we had looked so much forward to going ended up disappointing us in this manner. Maybe it was just a bad day at the office for them but their callousness shows an ingrained lack of...
Read moreContrary to the previous post , we celebrated a dear friend’s birthday at Grasshopper last night. I contacted Grasshopper two weeks ago to plan for this dinner to set the menu and request few additional requirements. We were a group of 11 with many different requirements and specifications.. allergies, food preferences , likes dislikes and specific diets. I must say it has been an absolute pleasure dealing with Sonali and Chef Touseef. They catered to all our requests and offered us an amazing 7 course menu. I was travelling and despite my busy schedule they were extremely accommodating.
Last night at dinner the service team was exceptionally kind and tried their best to cater to all our requests. While we were to start the dinner at 7pm, we were fashionably late and started the dinner at 8.15pm. We were informed earlier that their closing time was 10 pm but they did not put pressure on us or serve us in a hurry.
Each course (I can speak for the non-vegetarians) was delicious and was throughly enjoyed by everyone. Restaurants like Grasshopper require prior information if we have an additional member joining and it does become difficult for them to cater to last minute entires and changes. One of our dinner attendees decided to bring their nanny to the dinner and although this was not communicated to Grasshopper they tried their level best despite their limitations to cater to this person. The nanny was offered food and beverage to the best of their ability. This was very kind of them as we had by then completely disregarded the terms and conditions they had told us in advance. As we arrived late we ended up staying until 10.45, 45 minutes after their closing time. Many service staff live far away and need to rely on public transport and yet they did not rudely throw us out like many restaurants sometimes do or resort to tactic of dimming lights etc etc.
The only thing I can fault grasshopper over last night dinner experience is that they should have more ice to beat this summer heat and also perhaps offer some soft drinks to non drinkers. Other than this I think the service, the food the location was delightful and really a wonderful evening to remember.
Thank you Sonali, Chef Touseef and team for a memorable evening and your kind...
