IVY PARK HOTEL AND RESTAURANT — Restaurant in Bengaluru

We came across this restaurant while looking for a place to have a quick lunch. This hotel is right across the carmelaram railway station. We were pleasantly surprised by the range of food in the menu as we like Keralite cuisine. We ordered soup, chicken kabab and Kerala meals, with a request to bring in the meals quickly as we had our small son with us.

The restaurant was only about 20% occupied; however the waiters did not come to us at all. When one person came to us, he did not hand us a menu and gave us one only after we asked for it. We waited quite long for our dishes, which came only after repeated requests. The owner/manager was the one who was able to get our orders moving; until then the waiters did nothing. Meals were served to other customers who came after us. Water glasses were not given to us till the end of the meal, that too we had to ask the waiter; even then, he came back with 1 glass! I pointed out there were 2 adults there, and he went back and brought another one.

Good place but with very limited services and basic amenities like hot water or food options are less. Rooms are decently sized and bed is cozy. They still have a CRT television and DTH with very limited channels. No room telephone available and you need to call via mobile for a service. A get away place for sure for a small group or couples wanting time away from home. If only they could improve the service side and food offering and a bit on the amenities and infrastructure it would attract a lot more crowd but locals and tourist equally. This place is appropriate for the saying "Don't judge a book by it's cover". The place gives decent food. The ambience was decent enough. We were wondering how the food would be after the waiter told about the menu available for breakfast. The service was a bit late but was worth the wait as the food was tasty.

We had Poori bhaji and Appam with Veg Kurma. The Pooris were yummy. The place serves both Veg and Non-Veg

The highlight was the tasty Veg Kurma. The price was a bit on the higher side but ok.
