Srinivasa Upahara — Restaurant in Bengaluru

It was the first time i visited the hotel and will be the last. On my way to work just dropped in to this hotel and did not have a great experience. Concerns 1. The serving guy was cleaning the counter, all the dirt from the counter just falls on the food kept underneath the counter and without washing hands they served idli to other customers , made me literally throw up

My breakfast order took them 20 min to serve(though there was not much crowd) the serving guys were just chit chatting with each other I also had a take away which also took further more time, despite me giving both tokens same time. After my breakfast was done i still had to wait 15 minutes just for a simple take a away parcel. My office is perhaps 30 min from this place, after reaching i wanted to transfer the chutney and sagu given to a steel container and when i opened the chutney box from the hotel, it was STALE and the Sagu was in a verge of getting spoiled, i could not take the smell and had to discard the Chutney and Sagu(which is just a waste of food).

I had also ordered coffee, the coffee mugs(old ceramic mugs) were literally dirty.

A must try - Dal Kichadi!!! This is a restaurant which has been there for more than 30 years and I remember visiting it as a child. Everything is hot & fresh. We tried the pulao too, but it was just okay, nothing great about it. I wanted the bisi bele bath but they didn't serve that, so when I asked they suggested Dal Kichadi instead. Best choice!!!! Decent food at a decent price. I am totally in awe with the interiors of this darshini. Very flashy and modern. I only got to have a cup of tea and my wife had a plate of veg fried rice. She did not complain anything about the food she ate and I liked my cup of late evening tea here.

The dining area is equally divided into sitting and standing portions. The kitchen was open and the place was busy. I will have to visit this place again to write an in depth review of the food. I was impressed with the speed with which our orders were...
