This is a small hill (known as Mount Joy) temple dedicated to Hindu God Sri Subrahmanya (Lord Muruga to Tamils). We need to climb up on about 150 steps to reach the temple. He is known here as Kumaraswamy because he stand alone without his consorts, as an unmarried young man. His father Shiva is right in front of him in the shape of Lingam. Kumaraswamy idol is sculpted beautifully. The priests do a great job of decoration on Him and Sri Shiva.
On either side, we have shrines of Sri Ganesha and Sri Parvathi. The ornaments and floral decorations add to the beauty of the Divinities. As we go around and come out, we have the shrine of navaloha (nine elements) Kumaraswamy. That hall abounds in paintings of Sri Subramanya in six different famous places. Plus his wedding to Sri Valli and Sri Devasena.
The whole hill abounds in vast greenery and a park well maintained.
