If you need to eat Kanji here (congee as some call it), try the non fancy curd kanji for 120. The 200&250 thali won't even come with curd. We tried three and we found the curd one better among others. Paneer was old and chicken dish (mashed) was too salty. Ordered cup of curd (may be 50ml) just to get a better taste.
It's located in a food court (first floor) and it was too hot with the glass on ceiling. All outsourced cooks who may not even know the meaning of kanji 😄.
There was "add 40rs unlimited gruel (kanji), sides etc" on the online menu. That's removed now. Just an update.
Two dishes both veg and non veg came after finishing half of our kanji. The owner mentioned while serving that a dish is getting prepared. Was fair.
Good luck guys. Wish the hype wasn't too much(mostly a paid marketing?).
Last but not least- Was very disappointed while paying amount. I gave 600rs for 580 bill (for 3) and they told me "cash not accepted-no change as all are paying online". Imagine if I had my battery dead( it was less 8% as we were travelling and was on navigation) & to run around to get 80rs change.
Suggestion: Give that 50ml 10rs curd in 200 Veg thali.&250 non veg thali. Would be comforting with the spicy dishes.
Please one of the management or some one who knows about kanji be there to serve/talk to customers if the need anything during their dining.
Be nice to customers. Get change or atleast show some efforts that you guys are trying to help us than blatantly denying.
All the best. Hope you guys take the feedback in a positive way and...
Read moreThe Congee Concept is a restaurant in Bengaluru that specializes in congee or Kanji (as called in Tamil and Malayalam), a traditional rice gruel. Their menu features both traditional and signature congee varieties, emphasizing quality, nutritional value, and health benefits. Notable offerings include the Kerala Rice Kanji, served with payar thoran, chutney, and pickle, as well as congees tailored for health remedies like the Stomach Cramp Healer Congee. For those seeking more flavor, they offer South Indian pairings such as Tawa Prawns and Syrian Erachi Fry, accompanied by sides like papadam, chutney, green gram, and pickle. Additionally, they provide specialty beverages like Spiced Bottled Buttermilk and Bottled Rasam to complement the meals.
The meal starts from ₹120 and I feel it is overly priced. I ordered Curd Congee and it had Curd Congee along with pickle, dal chutney, green gram and papaddam. The cook seemed to be like some northeastern fellows and they didn't know to prepare dressing for the curd. The taste wasn't bad, especially I liked the chutney. I had to wait at least 15 minutes after my order for them to serve me. It was hot on the terrace during Feb and fan wasn't providing the necessary air.
The Congee concept may not be clearly visible from the roadside as it is inside the Food Court. It is located on...
