A Delightful Brunch at Little Italy, Bhopal My wife, a common friend, and I decided to try Little Italy in Bhopal for a brunch today around 1 PM, and it turned out to be a truly pleasant experience. Upon entering, we were immediately struck by the vibrant and welcoming ambiance. The place had a lively, happening vibe, with a large group enjoying a kitty party, which added to the cheerful atmosphere. The staff were incredibly humble and welcoming, making us feel comfortable right from the start. For our meal, we started with the Chef's Special Pasta Barbaresca. This white sauce pasta was absolutely delicious, prepared perfectly with a decent amount of fresh vegetables and a lovely, subtle hint of garlic. The portion size was generous and satisfying. My only minor disappointment was that it didn't come with bread, which is often provided at other similar establishments. Next, we indulged in two different pizzas: the Pizza Mellino and the Tartufi. Both were excellently prepared. The Pizza Mellino, in particular, stood out – it was generously loaded with cheese and fresh veggies like jalapeños, making every bite incredibly flavorful and satisfying. The Pizza Tartufi was also a cheesy delight, generously topped with mushrooms. To accompany our meal, we tried some hot beverages, a cappuccino and a cafe latte, which we found it to be average in taste, indicating a slight scope for improvement in that area. While the preparation charges for the food items felt quite generous and the overall bill for the food was reasonable considering the quality and quantity, we were quite disappointed by the exorbitant price for packaged drinking water. Paying ₹105 for a single water bottle in a city like Bhopal felt excessive and was a definite low point in an otherwise great experience. Little Italy clearly has a lot more exciting things on its menu, and we're definitely looking forward to explore them on future visits. Overall, Little Italy offers a delightful culinary experience with its delicious food and inviting atmosphere. Despite the small oversight with the pasta, the average beverages, and the surprising cost of water, the quality of the main dishes and the warm hospitality of the staff made our brunch was truly enjoyable. It's a great spot for a relaxed meal with friends or family, especially if you're looking for authentic Italian flavors in a...
Read moreIt was a chance discovery that we spotted this Italian restaurant 'Little Italy'. It opened 3 months back so not many are aware of it.
We reached the 3rd floor by lift where the restaurant is closed. The outer entrance is not impressive but inside you will find a nice huge restaurant with a fire oven at the reception. The interiors on this floor did not impress me and I inquired about the upper floor. The waiter informed me that it is the same as the lower one. I decided to venture out on my own and climbed the stairs that led to the upper floor.
The upper floor is class apart and has beautiful interiors and a place with outside seating as well. The magic happens here. We settled in one of the tables with perfect lighting. We asked for vegetarian recommendations. By the way alcohol is not served here.
We started with Ravioli Crocante (₹520) which had tasty cutlets on satay sticks with Arrabbiata dip and red salsa sauce on the sides. Next we had Lasagne Alle Ver (₹650) which is the best Lasagne I have had till date. The Sicilia Pizza (₹650) which was a thin crust fire oven baked mainly mushrooms pizza was quite dry and unimpressive. The seasoning, chilly oil and Tobasco had to be requested. They were not served with the dry pizza. Primavera red sauce penne pasta (₹620) was tasty but less in quantity. They don't serve toasted breads along with pasta or Lasagne which is a big miss as per today's Indo Italian standards.
For mocktails, we went for Indian Black Pearl (₹220) which is a jamun based drink. It reminded me of kala khatta. The other two mocktails were Peach Please (₹320) and Mango Passionfruit (₹320) which were both a delight to have.
All in all, the place is highly recommended for Indo-Italian cuisine. It is a high end restaurant, so be prepared for...
