Harilal's — Restaurant in Bihar

Harilal Sweets has multiple branches in Patna and here I am writing about their branch in West Boring Canal Road in Patna. Let me write my review with respect to Covid precautions, Pros, Cons and miscellaneous. Also let me tell you that this place very crowded so online order is better in Covid Times!!!

Covid-19 Precautions:

I observed too much negligence with respect to the Covid-19 guidelines. They have put a sanitizer at the entry of the gate but it's just to show. They will not ask you to sanitize nor they will check your temperature before entry. There was mix of Staffs with some wearing Masks properly and some with out mask. No social distancing inside the Restaurant and I don't expect that to be present especially at these kind of places.

Pros: They have a good variety of sweets and Snacks. The taste is better than Haldiram in Patna and similar to Bikaji in Patna. We tried kaju katli, kaju strawberry, anjeer, kaju lotus, pinni and they were awesome. However they use the kesariya colour in excess on these sweets which taste salty and also makes hand dirty . This was a mood Turner though. They had tasty Pyaz kachori and Dhokla

Cons: No better deals for Bulk order when you want 100+ boxes like. Staff can be a bit more polite and courteous. Follow Covid-19 norms in a good way.

Harilal has three outlets, one at West Boring Canal Road, one at Kankarbagh and at S K Puri.The one discussed here is a sweet shop located at West Boring canal Road. It was the first outlet and started as a high quality sweets shop but added cakes/pastries/bakery/dry fruit/freshly prepared snack items, etc. One can snack on sweets (but no sit-down dine in facility)/ freshly prepared snack items like Samosa, kachori, jalebi, chaat, kulfi, puri bhaji etc. Puri Bhaji and jalebis are available in the morning for breakfast and chat, Gol gappe, kulfi in the evening. One can order birthday cakes or have refreshment boxes prepared for any social occassion. One can also order through zomato/swiggy.

Quality of all items sold or served is probably one of the best in Patna. Ingredients used in cooking food items all of the highest quality.

Prices are on the stiffer side as compared to other sweet shop but the long line of customers is testimony to the fact that people find value for money spent here.

Thr traffic in front of the shop is busy most time of the day and if your on 4 whl , finding parking is a challenge. People on 2 whl usually park on road to make a quick purchase.

The shop is aircon and with pleasing get up, so purchasing or snacking is pleasurable experience. Staff give prompt service and...

I just have no words to express the satiation that I have after having anything they offer. The special mention is their morning samosa and jalebi. Everyone should try this. I feel no guilt in spoiling all the gains of my workout after having these hot samosa with luscious ghee jalebi in the morning. I am just the biggest admirer of this place. This place is a must visit for every gourmet as well as gourmand. From the yummy pastries, n varieties of sweets, roasted dry fruits, the chat section, bakery to everything including, the sweetest gesture ( beta, 50 gram jalebi to nahi dete par AAP le lo and gave me 50 gram jalebi and one samosa token) on asking just 50 gram of jalebi and approving the bill for it, is just a memory for me for life.
