During my workation in Sikkim, I happened to find Lhasa Nuwar — and it’s no exaggeration to say that it changed something in me. It’s not just the amazing food (which is truly some of the best I’ve ever had) or the warm, cozy vibe of the place. It’s the people — the conversations, the kindness, the innocence that feels untouched by the noise of the outside world.
Every time I visited, it felt like stepping into a gentler, more beautiful version of life. The conversations I had here were so heartfelt and genuine that I found myself coming back even when I wasn’t hungry — I just couldn’t leave Gangtok without visiting one more time.
Siddharth is so passionate about his stories, you can see it in his eyes. I loved his historical references around each dish and it made each dish all the more special. I wish I had his passion in life. Same with Rekha, whose hospitality and warmth made every visit unforgettable. Her grace and attentiveness create an atmosphere where you don’t just feel served — you feel cared for. Loved how she made time to talk to us, understand our visit, our plans and shared her opinion so casually that I don’t think she understands how long lasting her impact would be on us. The world would be a much better place if we all were a bit more like the two of them.
There’s something truly breathtaking about the simplicity and warmth of Lhasa Nuwar. It’s rare to find a place where you feel so at peace — where you’re not just a customer, but a welcome guest in a world that still believes in goodness.
Thank you, Lhasa Nuwar, for the unforgettable meals, and even more for the memories. I can’t wait...

Tucked away just a short drive from MG Marg, it offers a calm and beautifully curated space with a mix of traditional Nepali and Tibetan aesthetics. The atmosphere is cozy and private—ideal whether you’re dining with friends, family, or just looking for a peaceful meal.
The food here is genuinely good, with a menu that blends Nepali, Tibetan, and Italian flavors. Their thali is a hearty introduction to local cuisine, and the wood-fired pizzas are a standout. One of the best parts? You can actually step in and cook your own pizza in their wood-fired oven! It’s a fun and memorable experience that adds a personal touch to the meal.
What really completes the experience is the hospitality. The staff are warm, helpful, and happy to explain the origins of the dishes or guide you through the cooking process. It doesn’t feel rushed or commercial—it feels like you’re being welcomed into someone’s home.
