Have been to the place 3 times and every time have been disappointed by the poor service standards. Here's our last experience which was about a 9-10 months after the first one.
The poor service level starts from the phone number available on the website and also listed so boldly on the outside. You try calling to make a reservation, either number doesn't go through or no one picks up.
You still feel adventurous and land up at the place only to be greeted by an unpleasant doorman. His job profile seems to be to filter out as many people as he can. When he asked for the number of people to be seated, and we replied 3, his response is that the table is available but do you want to go in because preparation time will be minimum half an hour. We are taken aback by this rudeness but we still persist by saying that we will order and wait for the food.
After seating ourselves, we wait for someone to notice us and take our orders. Its a very very small place and given the number of servers generally loitering around, that shouldn't have been difficult. But surprise surprise, no one seems to be interested in taking our order. All of then are generally hovering around the door looking outside, probably enjoying the spectacle of the doorman showing attitude to the poor unwanted customers.
Finally when the server does notice us and comes to take our orders, we request his advise on choice of items. We are faced with a sullen server who basically said take whatever you want. We resigned ourselves and chose three items from the menu and requested him to hasten the serving since we had a movie to catch.
The only good thing about the experience was that the food came in 20 minutes (contrary to the doorman's statement, whom we could see dissuading customers coming in despite empty tables)
About the quality, the taste of the biryani is good but the quantity is just too little. I and my 9 year old son were still feeling hungry after having 1 biryani and 1 plate of seekh kababs. Given this small qty, it is probably one of the most expensive and not really value for money.
I would any day prefer the biryani at Noorani at Sector 7. Authentic taste, great quantity ( 1 biryani is more than enough for 2 grown hungry men), staff that cares for customers, much better ambiance, and to top it all, value for money.
Please avoid going to Biryani by kilo unless you like being treated like dirt and not like a...
Read moreWe recently decided to try the mutton biryani from By Kilo Biryani, hoping for a rich and flavorful experience. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a major letdown. Despite ordering a full portion, we were shocked to find only two small pieces of mutton, along with a single egg and a potato. Given the price and the brand’s reputation, we expected a generous serving of well-marinated, tender meat, but what we got was far from satisfying.
The biggest disappointment was the taste—or rather, the lack of it. A good biryani should be bursting with rich, aromatic spices, but this one fell completely flat. The flavors were dull and uninspiring, with no depth or balance. Instead of the fragrant, well-seasoned rice we were expecting, we got dry, unremarkable grains that lacked the signature touch of a well-made biryani.
The only redeeming factor was the staff, who were courteous and professional. They handled the order efficiently and maintained a polite demeanor throughout. However, good service alone cannot compensate for subpar food. When you order from a brand like By Kilo Biryani, you expect quality, both in terms of ingredients and preparation. Sadly, this experience did not live up to the hype, making it hard to justify the price.
Overall, we found the meal to be disappointing and not worth the cost. If you're a true biryani lover looking for authentic flavors and generous portions, this might not be the best choice. We certainly won’t be ordering from them again and wouldn’t recommend...

Biryani By Kilo in Sector 30C offers a convenient option for those craving biryani delivered in traditional handi style. The restaurant focuses on slow-cooked biryani that aims to deliver authentic flavors.
Food: The biryani is well-portioned and nicely presented in earthen pots. Flavors are decent, with aromatic rice and a fair balance of spices. However, some might find the taste a little mild compared to more robust local biryani places. Accompaniments like salan and raita are standard but sufficient.
Service: Delivery is usually on time, and the packaging is hygienic and thoughtfully done to retain warmth. In-store staff are courteous, though the outlet is primarily designed for takeout and delivery, with limited dine-in ambience.
Price: Pricing is on the higher side compared to typical local biryani shops, but the concept of handi biryani and the packaging add value for some customers.
Ambience: Minimal in-store dining space; it’s mainly a takeaway-focused setup. Clean and functional without much décor.
Overall: Biryani By Kilo, Sector 30C is a reliable choice for a hygienic, consistent biryani experience delivered to your doorstep. It might not blow you away with strong spices or street-style flavors, but it’s dependable for those seeking a milder, family-friendly biryani in neat...
