Masalaas The Fine Dine Restaurant — Restaurant in Chhattisgarh

Came for a Sunday lunch. The wait was long even though the restaurant didn't had much crowd. Table for 5, consisting of vegetarians and non-vegetarians. It took them around 35-40min to serve us one of the starters that we order and the second took around 15min more. As it turned out however, the wait was immaterial as I would not go back even if there was instant service based on the food alone.

First of all I would like to talk about the menu which was broad and confusing. My vegetarian friends got baby corn chili and mexican quesadilla and we (non-vegetarians) skipped starters and ordered chicken noodles from the menu. The baby corn chilli was okay-ish but the quesadilla was not at all good. One of the waiters offered us to try the quesadilla with tabasco sauce which never arrived and the chicken noodles which we ordered wasn't good as we didn't like the texture of the noodles, the chicken was perfect though. We further ordered fried rice and mutton biryani from the menu. Which were decent too.

Talking about the prices, I knew the restaurant would be costly as the water bottle alone cost INR 120/EA which I later found out. The servings were barely for 1 person which made it expensive looking at the prices of the dishes. Overall I think we could have gone to other restaurants in the city which would have been better choices. Recently had dinner here with family. Food(4/5): starters were good, served with good decoration, I specifically liked drums of heaven, it was crunchy and properly cooked. Biryani were just average, ordered chicken dum and tandoori biryani, portion size was good, but taste was just average, there was no flavor of Dum and also chicken was not properly cooked in Dum biryani, tandoori pieces were good with same rice taste. Service: staff were humble and courteous. What I didn't like: water bottle price(60 rs), they only have this special brand(vedica). In a tier3 city like bilaspur it does not feel good to pay 60 rs for water. Just to earn few extra bucks, they may loose customers. Overall experience was good, can be visited...

I regularly visit this place as the food is very good.

There are a lot of options including Italian, Chinese, Indian and Continental.

The staff is a bit unprofessional which overall hampers the experience.

They do have a bakery but had an unpleasant experience as the Tiramisu provided was stale even then there was no resolution, on top of that we were also charged for stale desserts. But it was one unpleasant experience. The other three were nice.
