This particular Berco’s restaurant differs from the other chain of restaurants in that it has a garden right outside the restaurant entrance and so the name “Berco's Garden”.
The restaurant was almost full on a weekday night but we were seated at one of the free tables. The ambience was nice with some good decor.
Berco’s specializes in both Chinese and Thai cuisine. We decided to go with Chinese and ordered Assorted Vegetable Momos, Vegetable Fried Rice, Vegetable Hakka Noodles & Vegetable Hot Garlic Sauce.
The Assorted Vegetable Momos did not taste good and felt as if the veggies inside the momos were dry. There wasn’t much flavour. The red chilli sauce along with it also wasn’t great and tasted a bit different than I expected it to be.
The Vegetable Fried Rice was okay but had only carrots and beans as the veggies. I was expecting some more veggies as part of this dish. The Vegetable Hakka Noodles tasted good but that also just had carrots and a bit of onions.
The Vegetable Hot Garlic Sauce looked very appetizing and had a variety of veggies which was good. However, the taste of the sauce was a bit strong and not how I expected the flavour to be.
In the end, just ordered a Brownie for dessert. The texture of the brownie was a bit stretchy. It was also very sweet but good enough for the kids.
Service was fast and the server serving us was nice as well. The pricing is high for the quantity of the dishes.
After we were done, we asked for the bill which was brought in by another person. We gave cash that already included the tip but since we did not have exact change, we gave a 100 rupee bill and were expecting the person to bring back the remaining balance. We waited for a couple of minutes but that person never returned and just disappeared to one corner of the restaurant. This is not expected from a restaurant of such high reputation. Very disappointing.

Read moreThe Death by Chocolate dessert was disappointing. With great expectations of meeting an emphatic and irreversible demise, I had dollops of it after a dinner there last night with some friends, earnestly hoping the effort would elevate me from mundane mortality to electrifying eternity. But, alas! Death, as promised on the menu, didn't quite happen. 24 hours into the act, I'm still alive and kicking. I didn't even experience a slight death, forget a comprehensive one. No symptoms at all. I was so eagerly looking forward to reaching that surreal state in which you earn the licence to haunt the people you'd want to haunt in the enviable avatar of a new-born demon. But the contraption on the plate failed miserably. The dessert was a setback. It only melted in the mouth, it didn't take me down south. I'm still checking my pulse, looking for the subtlest signs of the onset of a spectacular death. Even the inscription on my tombstone is ready. It reads: "I'm Standing Right Behind You." And the enthusiastic gravedigger is counting overtime - he says the clock is ticking away. Surely, this dessert is not a dish you'd want to die for. Some precious advice: next time when you serve Death by Chocolate to customers, please ensure they get to kick the...
