We had gone for a party which didn't have live barbecue but there were several starters and main course. Food , I would rate q0 out of 100. We after waiting for a considerable time we're served with paneer Tikka, fish Tikka and chicken Tikka ( not more than 2 pieces). All three were average but eatable. After several requests, no drinks were served or items like crispy corn . We were served honey chilly potato, which was non crispy, cold and bad in taste. Fruits were kept at a hidden place on back side table. The place where paprika chaat, palak chaat( which they were giving in only fried form with no dahi) and golgappa place had a very messy vibe. Raw vegetables like onion, some green vegetables were lying on floor at back of counter which gave a local vibe. The whole restaurant had been booked by hosts, which I feel the restaurant failed to deliver. The main course was as messy as the starters. Many items were finished which they said they would be reimburse soon but the service was slow. One item to specially mention was butter chicken which was very sweet in taste, just not eatable. The other dishes we tried like chicken curry with watery gravy, chilly chicken, dal making, all very average. The sweet dishes, whatever they offered were not good. I had an extremely disappointing experience at Spize Barbeque Restaurant, and I feel compelled to highlight a major issue with their upkeep and maintenance standards. While dining there recently, I encountered a protruding pin on the edge of one of their tables. This seemingly small oversight led to a major inconvenience for me.
When I adjusted my position at the table, the pin snagged on my brand-new Levi’s jeans, causing a visible tear. Unfortunately, I didn’t notice the damage at the time. Although the staff promptly replaced the table after realizing the issue, this reactive measure doesn’t excuse the fact that such negligence occurred in the first place. It was only when I returned to my car that I noticed the tear, which completely ruined a pair of premium jeans that I had just purchased.
This incident speaks volumes about the lack of attention to basic furniture maintenance and quality control. It’s shocking that a restaurant of this reputation would fail to ensure something as simple as safe and well-maintained tables for their patrons.
To say I’m disappointed would be an understatement. Dining at Spize cost me not only the price of the meal but also the price of my jeans. I expect far better from a professional establishment. Firstly, the staff seemed indifferent to customer feedback, which is quite surprising for a restaurant in this competitive market. Nobody approached us to ask how we were finding the food or the service. Instead, the staff focused heavily on serving more vegetarian items—even after knowing we were primarily there for the non-veg options—seemingly in an attempt to fill us up quickly.
Additionally, there was a certain level of arrogance in the behavior of most staff members. It felt like they didn’t care much about the customers’ preferences or interests, which is a big turnoff. That said, one or two staff members stood out for their politeness and effort.
While the restaurant does offer a 30% discount with online coupons (which is a good deal), it is clear that they are unable to match the quality and service standards of competitors like Barbeque Nation. If Spize Barbeque wants to establish itself in this market, it needs to focus on customer satisfaction, quality service, and maintaining competitive standards.
