Kays barbeque is a well known outlet established in 1965 is very popular for its unique butter chicken and garlic naan. Situated in the central market Ashok vihar, delhi. It has open standing tables arrangment as well as a comfortable seat-in dining restaurant nearby. Food has been consistently good and quality is always top notch. Its open kitchen is visible to all and is managed quite hygienically. Apart from butter chicken their chicken soup, tawa chicken, kalmi kabab are very popular among patrons. Special mention about their sirka onions and mint chutney is not to be missed which sometimes gets over in the later hours. Food is absolutely tasteless and bland. I ordered Makhmali Shahi Paneer and Kay’s Signature Murg Lababdar—both turned out to be the exact same gravy, just with different names. And they proudly call it their “signature dish”… what a joke.

The Dhaba Chicken Curry was no better—below average, watery, and completely lacking flavor. Honestly, I can cook better chicken half asleep in my kitchen.

The food is overrated, overpriced, and nowhere near worth the hype. Portions are average, quality is poor, and taste is missing. I get far more delicious and authentic food from a roadside van on Gurugram highway at one-fourth the price.
