Lovely quaint little bar and restaurant located in Cambolim after Raia if my geography is correct. We reached there around 8 pm and were warmly greeted by the owner, seating arrangements were neatly spaced out, hand sanitizer available at the entrance, more notably being an establishment with open air seating arrangements there were no mosquitoes at all. The restroom facility was very well maintained. We proceeded to order the chicken gizzard/liver starter which came in a cafreal version amazingly delicious leaving us wanting for more. Then we had the pork chops which again were really good, nice and tender. Finishing our evening with Goan fish curry rice which was another smashing dish. The mackerels were fried really well, skin part crispy with the inner flesh succulent, the lady fingers coconut curry was nice and spicy, the accompaniments were also really good. Only issue is that the dishes do take some time to arrive, which can be used to either watch the tv available at the establishment for sports or just casual chats amongst yourselves. All in all a really good gastronomic experience. I would really...
Read moreI was here on a Monday evening and there was live jazz - Karan (hope I've got the name right) on guitar, Bosco on drums ... I've forgotten the name of the bassist. Vocals by Rachel. The musicians are excellent and choice of standards was fabulous: Charlie Parker, Wayne Shorter ... and also some original compositions of Karan ... As I said, excellent music portrayed exceedingly well. We were told that this is going to be a regular thing on Monday evenings and if I'm in this neck of the woods on a Monday this is where I'll be in the evening.
The choice of drinks here is pretty good and they also have some beers on tap.
The food is passable. The only trouble here that the service is abysmally slow. Be prepared to wait 45 minutes or more for things to be brought to your table. But the people are great ...
All in all, a great place for a relaxed evening...
Read moreA hidden treasure we found on the way from Borim to Colva. Travelling with a dog this was an ideal place to come. And the proprietor of the place Mr.Joseph was most gracious and made right suggestions for a table for three in terms of our tastes and appetite. The lepo (solefish) fries were crunchy and full of flavour. The crab was immaculately prepared and delicious. So was the kingfish fry. The owner had asked us to pre order so the food was quick to arrive to.the table as he had prepped all our order in advance. Another lovely surprise was the final price that was so reasonable for the quality of food and kind of service given. So a big thanks to this cosy place with...
