Authentic Goan Flavors Await at Goan Kitchen in Morjim.

As the name suggests, this cozy eatery is not just another restaurant; it's a testament to the rich culinary heritage of Goa, serving up traditional Goan dishes that are as authentic as they come.

One of the standout features of Goan Kitchen is that it's proudly owned and operated by locals. This means that when you step inside, you're not just dining at a restaurant, but you're welcomed into the warm embrace of Goan hospitality and culture.

Our dining experience at Goan Kitchen centered around their Fish Thali, and we were left absolutely delighted. We had the opportunity to savor two different types of Fish Thali, both of which were a burst of authentic Goan flavors. The highlight of the meal for me was the unforgettable squid head masala and the impeccably fried Chonak. Each bite was an explosion of flavors that perfectly encapsulated the essence of Goan cuisine.

Goan Kitchen undeniably stands as the best place to indulge in local Goan fare around Morjim, especially for lunch. However, there's a catch – the word has clearly gotten out about this place, so it's advisable to arrive early if you don't want to miss out on some of the delectable fish dishes. Due to the high demand, certain varieties of fish can sell out quickly.

While the food at Goan Kitchen is undoubtedly worth the wait, the only area that could see some improvement is the service. It's not that the staff is unfriendly or unhelpful, but it can sometimes take longer than expected for your order to arrive at the table. Given the fantastic food, this minor inconvenience can easily be overlooked, but it's worth noting for those who are in a hurry.

In conclusion, Goan Kitchen is a must-visit when you find yourself in Morjim, Goa. The combination of its convenient location, authentic Goan cuisine, and the friendly atmosphere created by the local owners makes it a memorable dining experience. The outstanding squid head masala and Chonak fry alone are worth the visit, and you'll leave with a taste of Goa that you won't soon forget. Just remember to plan your visit wisely and arrive early to ensure you get your hands on their delectable...

Disastrous Dining Experience: Avoid the Gown Thali [ All Thali's ]

My recent visit here turned into a culinary nightmare when I decided to try their highly recommended Goan Thali. I must say, it was a colossal disappointment that left a bitter taste in my mouth – both literally and metaphorically.

Firstly, the presentation of the dish was lackluster, resembling something hastily thrown together rather than a thoughtfully crafted meal. The colors were dull, and the overall appearance was unappetizing, making me question the kitchen's commitment to quality.

Upon taking my first bite, I was greeted with an overwhelming and unpleasant blend of flavors. The taste was a mishmash of conflicting elements, leaving me perplexed about what the chef was trying to achieve. The texture was equally problematic, as the dish was overly greasy, almost as if it was soaked in oil.

To make matters worse, the portion size was remarkably small for the exorbitant price charged. Considering the lack of culinary prowess displayed in this dish, it felt like a blatant attempt to overcharge patrons for a subpar experience.

Regrettably, I cannot recommend the Goan Thali's any type of Thali to anyone. It was a disappointing and unsatisfying dining affair that left me questioning the credibility of their culinary expertise. Save your taste buds and your wallet; there are far better dining options...

Goan Kitchen in Morjim is a no-frills yet highly satisfying spot for those seeking authentic Goan cuisine, especially fresh seafood. The highlight here is undoubtedly their Fish Thali, which many guests call one of the best in the area. Generous in portion and packed with traditional flavors, it typically includes perfectly cooked fish, rice, curry, and accompaniments that reflect the essence of Goan home-style cooking. The freshness of the fish and the balance of spices make it stand out, giving you an authentic coastal dining experience without the touristy markup. Beyond the thali, dishes like butter garlic prawns, prawn curry, and kingfish preparations are also well-received. Prices are fair compared to many beachside restaurants, making it a good value for money. Service is usually warm and efficient, though it can slow down during busy hours. The ambience is simple and modest—not luxurious, but welcoming and unpretentious. In short, Goan Kitchen is the place to go if you want real, hearty Goan seafood without frills. Come here for the Fish Thali, stay for the honest flavors, and you’ll leave with both your stomach and heart full. It’s a true taste of Goa in Morjim.
