That Exquisite Goan Meal - Done

We visited @islamargaritagoa by complete fluke. The first time we visited, we ordered very little as we weren't hungry but the little we ate made us go back several times during our recent stays in Goa. Set on the banks of the picturesque river Sal that passes through the very calm village of Assolna. It's the perfect place to eat really good Goan food (amongst other cuisines) & enjoy the calm. The Manager- Maggie has the gentlest approach & kindest smile. That can be said of all the staff including the ones in the kitchen. Special mention to Sebi who makes sure your plates & glasses are never empty & smiles his way right through. Now the food: This time we ordered more. Anti - Clockwise : Those Huge Rawa Fried Masala Prawns OMG SO crunchy, so perfectly cooked that I think I even at a couple shells without realizing.

That Simply Outstanding Tawa Fried Pomfret It's so easy to overcook pomfret & burn the masala. Not here. Trust me it's my favourite fish so if I'm saying it was outstanding, it was.

That Goan Red Rice

That Superb Chicken Xacuti Again cooking a xacuti can be tricky especially whilst frying the masala. These guys had it down to perfection.

That Obligatory Prawn Curry When they did the complicated dishes so well, this they hit out of the ball park. Simply outstanding & the rice complimented both gravies

Those Beautifully Cooked Chorizos With Pav Not fatty at all. Burst of flavours that took our breath away & we ordered more to take back with us to Pune

That Exceptional Chicken Cafreal With Potatoes Perfect blend of spices & I loved that they agreed to my request of adding potatoes in this. Just so good that we packed this to take back to Pune as well

All in all just a fabulous meal experience in south Goa

Isla Margarita is one of the most peaceful spots along the Assolna Riverside Lane. If you're looking for a quiet, private dining experience, this is the place to be. The restaurant serves authentic Goan food, and their cocktails are just as fantastic—plus, they're really affordable! We've been regular visitors and simply love the view and the food.

We mostly stick to their amazing seafood, especially the fish. We haven't explored much of the chicken menu except for the tandoori chicken, which was great. The service here is always top-notch, and if you want to take in the stunning views of the river, I highly recommend visiting for lunch—it’s the best time to fully enjoy the surroundings.

Must-try dishes: Rechado Mackerel, Mussels Rawa Fry, Chonok Masala Fry, and Lepo Rawa Fry. They have a wide range of seafood options, from small fish to whole fish. We even tried the whole Red Snapper Tandoor once, and it was incredibly fresh, literally melting in your mouth.

We had an amazing experience at Isla Margarita, celebrated my birthday with my family at the restaurant.I had called for reservations and the manager Maggie asked me about the occasion, I informed her it is my birthday she went out of the way reserved the best table with the view of River Sal and decorated the place for us, really appreciate the special touch. The service was amazing a special thanks to Arslan who was always with a big smile and the service was quick. Perfect place to enjoy with family, the ambience is lovely too. Food was amazing we enjoyed the park chilly fry, beef chilly fry, fish and chips, stuffed mushrooms and chicken lollipops.

How could I forget to comment on the authentic fish thali we had on our second visit, best fish thali we have enjoyed so far in Goa.
