Joe's River Cove — Restaurant in Goa

We had a reservation for lunch and upon arrival, the first thing you notice is that the place is open and airy. Tables are spaced well. And even in the Goan heat we were very comfortable. There was a private occasion being held at the same time. So the main deck area over looking the ... cove ;) was not available for seating. But I'm sure the setup in the evenings would be amazing. To start off, Our table ordered a couple of seafood platters and some steaks. The seafood platter has an amazing variety and all items prepared so well. It was Fresh and thier preparation was so well made, that the protein and herbs complimented each other very well. Steaks too were well seasoned and the accompanying sauces were brilliant in thier own right. We were actually quite full with the first course but not stuffed, so we decided to get basic rice, fish curry and fish fry for mains. We ordered Ambot Tik curry. Now it is well known that Ambot Tik is Tangy/sour (Ambot) Hot/spicy (tik) but this curry was leaning more to the tik side. One could tell right from the get go as the curry was dark maroon red. The heat level was a little bit too much for my liking, but the fish in the curry was tasty. They definitely could go easy on the heat. But if you can handle it , it'll be perfect for ya. We didn't grab dessert as it was a birthday and we had gotten cake along. The service is quite good even tho it was a weekend and they had a private party of what looked like 80 to 100 people. Our server was Eldridge (hope I didn't screw up the name), young cheerful guy who handled our loud bunch very well and gave us great suggestions in food. Overall it was a great experience here. I recently visited your restaurant and unfortunately had an extremely disappointing dining experience, primarily due to the abysmal service provided by your waiter. I felt compelled to share my review to caution others before considering dining at this establishment.

From the moment we were seated, it was evident that our waiter lacked basic courtesy and professionalism. His disinterested attitude was off-putting, to say the least.

As we placed our orders, it became apparent that your waiter was inattentive and disorganized.

After the meal, we asked the waiter for finger bowl. He went to the staff making fun of us. All the staff members to were staring at us. It felt very embracing. It was not enough, he came with a finger bowl which was too hot like a Hot Piping Soup as if. I had been with my wife, son, brother and sister-in-law. It was impossible to dip hands in that finger bowl. your waiter displayed a complete disregard for our dining experience. He seldom checked on us, and when he did, it felt rushed and insincere. Considering the competitive prices charged one would expect a level of service befitting the establishment's reputation. Unfortunately, the waiter's incompetence and apathy overshadowed any redeeming qualities of the restaurant. We left feeling utterly dissatisfied, both with the service and the overall experience.

It is my sincere hope that the management, and the owner of Joe Rivers Cove takes this feedback constructively and makes the necessary improvements to ensure that other patrons do not endure a similar ordeal.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Joe's River Cove Restaurant, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. The location of the restaurant by the river creates a serene and peaceful ambiance that makes you feel relaxed and at ease. The seating arrangements were perfect, with a great mix of indoor and outdoor seating options that allowed us to enjoy the beautiful view of the river while we ate.

But the real highlight of our dining experience was the food. The dishes were prepared to perfection and tasted absolutely delicious. From the traditional Indian dishes to the seafood, everything was made with such care and attention to detail that it was hard not to love every bite. The stuffed mushrooms were definitely a standout dish and are a must-try if you visit the restaurant.
