Food was the only medicine that our ancestors had, as they were full of medicinal qualities(which includes very good taste). It's pretty hard to encounter such food items in restaurants. I've heard of 'Kandanthipili Rasam' and 'Mudakathan Keerai' from elders and movies. But I was able to savor them and many more traditional foods at Sachitha and Nandini mess. By the time you have eaten dal, chutney, some 3 varieties of kootu, Sambhar and reach rasam, you would be most certainly be full but you ll realise there are two varieties of rasam and both tastes good.
