I used to visit Birmies a lot as a college student. At that time only one outlet was known to me - the one in Navrangpura. Over a period of time, I discovered that they also have one at S.G. Highway.
So for all of you who are unaware of Birmies - Birmies is one small family restaurant located in Ahmedabad. The Navrangpura outlet is really tiny and cute that you could mistake it for a hideout. Here is why I love Birmies!
Food - Birmies serves some amazing food. I have been to Birmies a number of times with friends, with family as well as with my own self. Hence, I have had a number of dishes ranging from baked macroni, hum pum paneer, chhole paratha, aloo matar platter to chinese and sandwiches. And I have loved all of them. Though, Birmies prices it's dishes a little above average, the food is cooked in a really clean kitched and served in a generous quantity. I would really like to recommend Hum Pum Paneer. It is a Mexican speciality of this place and everyone should have it atleast once for it is drool worthy.
Service - Birmies has a really courteous staff and fast service. Definitely one of the places I can think of visiting alone because of its safe and friendly aura.
Ambiance - The ambiance of the restaurant is above average, pretty clean and a bit congested. Being a family restaurant, a date at this place is a big No-No. Though a good and reasonable place to hangout with friends, cousins or as a family outing.
Drawing the curtains, definitely visit this place for some lip-smacking...
Read moreI am using Zomato every day for the last six months and ordered food from various places. For the first time in my history, I have found a restaurant who is not sending any cutlery. Yes, not even spoon. The restaurant I am talking about is Birmies Vastrapur and I ordered 2 Aloo Paratha and 1 cheese paratha.
The restaurant sends paratha in a paper and instead of providing paper dish they expect you to eat in the same paper. They also send curd but will not send spoon. When I called they gave me silly excuses like people complaints about the wastage so we give only when a customer asks for it. How the hell customer knows that you will not send the cutlery. Also, based on some customer how can you guess that no one needs cutlery. If you are extra cautious about the environment then first confirm with the customer whether they have the cutlery to eat or not and then exclude it from order.
Like service, the food was pathetic too. Very less quantity for the price. Had 3 parathas and still, I was hungry.
I tried Birmies on Sindhu Bhavan road and thought it was a good idea to try Vastrapur branch but I was wrong. Never ordering from here again. If you are going to order then please the fools in the restaurant to include the cutlery else they...
Read moreI often visit another branch of this restaurant located at Sindhu Bhawan Road once I am in Ahmedabad, where I first tried their Hum Pum Paneer and instantly became a huge fan of this dish. The taste, the flavors, and the freshness were absolutely delightful there.
Recently, I decided to try the same dish at this branch of the same restaurant, located in a different area. Unfortunately, the Hum Pum Paneer here was nowhere close to the taste I had experienced before. The flavors felt off, and it lacked the signature richness that made me fall in love with it earlier. Still peroson at the reception told this is the oldest branch if he's correct then also I will never visit here again. Even the raspberry mojito also I've tried which was also not up to the mark. But partha was pretty good in taste but again with which specific dish you'll have paratha !!! That's the question here.
Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend visiting Biermies at Sindhu Bhawan Road instead, as they not only serve a consistently delicious Hum Pum Paneer but also offer a soothing ambiance that enhances the overall...
