I recently had the opportunity to dine at the newly opened FBK Fens Backyard Kitchen in Rajkot, and while the overall experience was positive, there were some noticeable flaws in the food that need improvement.
Here's a summary of the dishes I sampled during my visit:
Spinach Cheese Ball: These cheesy appetizers were a good start to the meal, but they fell short on delivering the promised spinach flavor. While they were enjoyable, I was hoping for a more pronounced spinach taste.
Baked Veg Lasagna: The flavors of the Baked Veg Lasagna were outstanding. The tomato sauce and vegetable filling were delicious. However, the thickness of the pasta sheets was a drawback, making the dish a bit heavier than expected.
Mysore Masala Dosa: The Mysore Masala Dosa was a pleasant surprise, with a crispy dosa and a flavorful filling. The highlight was the scrumptious coconut chutney & tomato chutney, which paired perfectly with the dosa.
Cheese Chilli Dosa: Cheese lovers will appreciate the Cheese Chilli Dosa. The combination of traditional dosa and generous cheese was a delightful treat, with a subtle kick from the chili.
Mexican Loaded Pizza: Unfortunately, the Mexican Loaded Pizza did not meet expectations. It had an unusual sweet and off-putting taste, and the flavors were not up to par with the rest of the menu.
Paneer Tikka Dry: The Paneer Tikka Dry was decent, with soft paneer. However, it seemed undercooked, and the marination lacked depth, leaving it tasting somewhat raw.
Mocktail - Cuddle on the Beach: The mocktail was refreshing overall but had room for improvement. While it was enjoyable, it could have been better with a more balanced flavor profile.
In conclusion, FBK Fens Backyard Kitchen shows promise as a new addition to Rajkot's dining scene. The ambiance and service were commendable, but there were notable shortcomings in some of the dishes, particularly the Mexican Loaded Pizza and Paneer Tikka Dry. The restaurant has the potential to deliver a consistently excellent dining experience with some refinements in their food preparation and flavor profiles. I look forward to returning to see how they evolve and improve...

Fen’s backyard kitchen has great mocktails that are as creative as they are refreshing, and the decor adds to the overall vibrant and inviting ambiance.
Our recent visit was absolutely fantastic. We dove into a spread that included perfectly cooked pizza, satisfying pasta, and sizzling sizzlers that arrived hot and fragrant. From the Chinese selection, the Manchurian and chilly garlic rice were packed with flavor, and the chilly paneer was a delicious highlight.
Beyond the fantastic food, the chocolate churro we had for dessert was the ideal sweet ending – crispy, warm, and utterly delicious. This were the finest churros my kids who have tasted around the world.
The atmosphere here is wonderfully lively and family-friendly, making it a comfortable and enjoyable dining experience for all ages.
What truly impressed us was the service; the staff were incredibly attentive, efficient, and genuinely caring, making us feel welcome and well looked after throughout our meal. I would like to say special thank to Arjunbhai and Mahendrabhai for providing exceptional hospitality and services.
But ultimately, it's the amazing taste of every dish that will have us coming back again and again. If you're looking for a restaurant that excels in variety, flavor, and service, this is definitely the place to be!
We highly recommend RBK as must visit...
Read moreDisappointing Dinner ... Let me preface this by saying I was genuinely expecting a decent meal last night. The name itself conjures images of elegance and quality, and the building certainly looked the part from the outside. Sadly, the experience inside felt more akin to grabbing a quick bite at a roadside dhaba than a refined dining establishment. The service, to put it mildly, was lackluster. We were seated after a noticeable wait, despite several empty tables. Our server seemed disinterested, mumbled through the specials (which we couldn't quite decipher), and took an age to bring our next orders. Throughout the meal, getting their attention for anything – be it more drinks or the bill – felt like an Olympic sport. Empty plates lingered on our table for far too long, creating a rather cluttered and unappetizing scene. And then there was the food. Oh, the food. While not offensively bad, it was profoundly average.
Honestly, the entire experience felt like a bait-and-switch. The fancy name and impressive facade led us to believe we were in for a treat, but what we got was a meal and service that wouldn't stand out in even the most basic of eateries. The prices, however, did not reflect the quality, leaving us feeling thoroughly ripped off. If you're looking for a truly special dining experience in Rajkot, please look for...
