What a total letdown. I genuinely don’t understand the hype around this place. Visited with high expectations but the experience was a disaster from start to finish.
Waiting Time & Ambience: Be prepared for a long wait—especially during peak hours. The place is almost always crowded, and the overall vibe feels chaotic and rushed, with lots of hustle all around. First of all, the waiting time is ridiculous. We stood around for what felt like forever with zero clarity on when or how we’d be served. There’s no proper system in place just chaos and crowd everywhere. People pushing, shouting, no queue, no order. It’s like they’ve made the confusion part of the “experience".
When the food finally arrived, I was already frustrated and then came the biggest disappointment: the Chulha Sev Usal was just average. Nothing special. Just regular sev usal with a smoky tag slapped on it. Definitely not worth the wait or the hype. I’ve had better from regular roadside stalls with half the crowd and twice the taste.
The service was a joke. No coordination, no proper seating, and no one to answer basic questions. You’re left to figure everything out on your own. Every time you have to chase floor person. Honestly, they’re just cashing in on the hype.
Prices are okay, sure, but what’s the point if the experience is this bad?
In short: Overrated, overcrowded, and over it. Won’t be going back, and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for actual good food and a...

This is a dish where you are served with a soup (Usad), peas (vatana) and Sev. All are served to you in a small bowl and enjoy it with a bread(Bun). Barodian people are diehard crazy fan about this dish, one can practically visit the famous food joint of sev-usad and can get a live example that people do wait in a long que for this dish. This place also serves the sev-usad that other famous joints such as "mahakali" and "lalabhai" do serves, but the thing that makes different to this joint is their making, they make it on coal in the ancient manner they way our ancestors use to cook. Beleive me they got really amazing taste and theire soup(Usad) is also thick and good in taste. One must definately try this, they are located at makarpura exactly next to railway crossing. Rates are on higher side comparison to others but due to their unique way of making and good taste you will find a long que...
Read moreA Gem for Sev Usal Lovers!
Shree Jay Ranchhod Sev Usal is a must-visit spot for anyone craving authentic Sev Usal and Sev Tari! The flavors here are absolutely divine. The Sev Usal is perfectly balanced with just the right amount of spice, topped with fresh sev that adds a wonderful crunch to every bite. The Sev Tari, on the other hand, is packed with rich flavors and has a tantalizing mix of spices that makes it a delightful dish on its own or when paired with the Sev Usal.
The presentation is simple yet inviting, and the portion sizes are generous. What I really loved is the freshness of the ingredients—the sev is always crispy, the curry is fragrant, and the toppings (onions, cilantro, lemon) are spot on. The staff is friendly, and the service is quick, making it a great option for a quick meal or a cozy sit-down.
If you’re in the mood for delicious, flavorful, and authentic street-style Sev Usal, Shree Jay Ranchhod is the place to be. I’ll definitely be coming...
