Quick Summary: Shree Sainath Snacks, a longstanding South Indian establishment in Surat, impresses with its authentic fare. A favorite among Surti locals, its Mysore Masala Dosa is a standout dish. Despite a little higher on prices, the consistently delicious food makes it a worthwhile experience. Be prepared for crowds, especially on weekends. Details: Shree Sainath Snacks holds a special place in Surat's culinary scene, tracing its roots from a small thela near Bhagal Char rasta to its current bustling location. The continuous crowd in the waiting area attests to its enduring popularity among locals. The star of the menu is the Mysore Masala Dosa—a crisp and spicy dosa served with a flavorful tomato curry reminiscent of Pau Bhaji's bhaji. This signature dish graces almost every table, reflecting its widespread appeal. Other menu highlights include the savory Masala Dosa, comforting Idli Sambar, and the unique Fried Idli. While the food consistently delights the taste buds, the pricing tends to be on the higher side compared to similar South Indian joints. However, for those prioritizing taste over cost, the culinary experience may justify the expense. Patience is key when dining at Shree Sainath Snacks, especially during peak hours. The waiting area sees a constant stream of visitors even on weekdays, and weekends demand extra patience. Despite the crowds, some find that the lively atmosphere adds to the overall charm of the place. In conclusion, Shree Sainath Snacks offers a flavorful journey through South Indian cuisine, with the Mysore Masala Dosa stealing the spotlight. While prices may deter some, the consistently delicious offerings make it a destination worth considering for South Indian food enthusiasts. Be prepared for a wait, but the culinary delights make it a memorable experience. Signing Off Hiral Amodia (Insta : amodiahs)

I am going to this place for last 16 years.... And so on..... In 2003 I was first introduced this place by my teacher. That time the rates were 15&17 RS for oil & butter Mysore masala Dhosa...... Although the rates are high now but the quality has never been compromised and the taste is same as it was 16 years back.even the coconut chutney and sambhar taste the same. I stay outside the country now but still whenever I visit Surat I used to go there for this treat of Dhosa even writing the review my mouth is getting the taste...... Me and my wife likes butter Mysore my kids have crispy cheese butter Dhosa , father used to have idli-vada mix and then onion uttapa and mother used to have dahi vada.... Along with sosyo. Oh... Miss these things now.... Must visit place I know it's all time full, I normally go inbetween 1100-1300 and evening 1800-1900 the rush is less. And normally I find this place closed on Mondays so avoid Mondays and any big festival of God Shiva. A must visit place to have authentic South Indian taste.

Whenever I visit Surat, I prefer to satisfy my tastebuds with super-delicious dosa of Sainath Snack Stall. This small but well-organised restaurant serves varieties of South Indian dishes at a value for money. I had tasted Mysore Masala Dosa. They serve plain mysore masala dosa and a dish full of bhaji separately along with sambhar and coconut chutney. I bet you will surely love this combo. If you are hungry enough and your belly allows you to fill it fully, you will end up finishing the full plate bhaji, two plain dosa and couple of sambhar and chutney bowls. Service is also good. There are number of Sainath named south Indian outlets while searching on Google but this one is located at near SBI, Timiliyawad, Nanpura, Surat.

A Complete Letdown – Not Worth Your Time or Money

I had one of the worst dining experiences at this hotel/restaurant recently, and I feel compelled to share it so others don’t make the same mistake.

First, we had to wait in line for nearly 30–40 minutes just to get a table. Despite the long wait, we hoped the food would make up for it. Unfortunately, it only got worse from there.

To our surprise, the portion size of the dosa was drastically reduced — nearly 50% smaller than what they used to serve. What used to be a fulfilling meal is now barely a snack.

Even more shocking was the additional charge of ₹150 for sambhar and chutney — which were earlier complimentary and are considered a basic part of a South Indian meal. Charging such an amount for side dishes is nothing short of daylight robbery.

The service was extremely poor. Staff members were inattentive, disinterested, and at times outright rude. No one seemed to care about customer satisfaction or basic courtesy. We had to call multiple times even for water or napkins.

In total, we were charged ₹750 for a meal that wasn’t even worth ₹500, both in terms of quality and quantity. The food lacked flavor, was poorly presented, and didn’t feel fresh.

Overall, the place has completely lost its value — both in food and hospitality. What used to be a decent place has now turned into an overpriced, mismanaged, and disappointing mess.

Strongly advise against visiting. You’re better off eating anywhere else. If you do go, expect to be overcharged, underfed, and treated poorly. A total disaster of...
