On a bright Saturday afternoon, we strolled into this restaurant with high hopes for a bustling lunchtime scene. To our surprise, the place at 12:30 PM was empty.
The staff seemed to outnumber the guests (the 2 of us) creating an unintentional "private dining" vibe. Their eagerness to please turned our lunch into a spectator sport—they were practically timing our chewing rhythm!
Now, let's talk about the star of the show—the Gujarati thali. I had huge expectations of savoring the much maligned Gujrati dishes, but reality served up something closer to a gentle flavor yawn. It was the kind of meal you wouldn't rush to pen a love letter about. You would rather wish to forget it like a bad ex.
To add a sprinkle of oddity to the experience, the sealed water bottle looked like it had been used multiple times by guests before us and then sealed again.
And then the bill landed. For an unlimited thali, we shelled out 640 rupees for two. I had flashbacks of watching a first day show of a famous Bollywood star.
So, there you have it—a lunchtime escapade filled with a quiet restaurant, overly attentive staff, and a thali that played hard to impress. Maybe next time, we'll opt for a Mysore Cafe or a SK Chinese which is much more...
Read moreI was very eager to have the birthday dine-in at this place. Heard about the authentic dishes and peaceful ambience of this place several times before. But truly speaking, it turned out as just a waste of time and money being a gujrati food lover. Numbers of sabji's I had were only three/four and that too without taste, just the sweet was having usual taste. Rotis got hardened within a minute, puris too. Just the idra was okayish type. All other items were just roadside type, not having the taste like it should be (authentic). Now coming to the service, it was too much fast and quite unprofessional , couldn't able to eat peacefully. Seemed like they are not trained enough to handle minimal rush, waiters were rude type. And the ambience was very noisy.
The washroom was really pathetic. It was not having the standard of an authentic restaurant. Price/plate is much costlier comparatively to the quality & service of the food. Last but not the least, if you are interested to have a good and value for money gujrati lunch try...
