Here is my review of Kesar. Our daughter's first birthday was at Kesar banquet hall in Mango Courtyard. Here is the review of the place and food: The entire premise is clean. Regular fumigation takes care of mosquitoes and other insects before guests arrive. Washrooms are clean and hygienic. Courteous and supportive staff. Option to pay electronically. The entire premise is accessible by wheelchair. The server takes care of the guests well. They gave special attention to the guests. The food quality and taste were up to the mark. The guests did like the food. The food was served hot. Whatever Pavan Chauhan promised was delivered. The on-table service was also good.
While everything mentioned above was great, the decoration was a real turn-off for us. Two stars for ruining the mood of my wife who was planning for her birthday for a month plus. Here are the things that went bad despite paying premium money: They promised that the decoration will be ready by 6. We wanted to finish the photography before the event started at 7. We arrived at 6 to do the photography with an ample amount of time. By the time we arrived, the decoration was still in progress. We could not do photography in time. Because of this, the whole event started late. 50% of the guests were fasting because of 'Shravan Monday', and everything started late. I am known for my punctuality in family, and everything that happened made it look as if I don't care about time and planning. They charged for the stage, and the stage/platform was not there where we arrived. They did add the stage/platform in 20 minutes. But by the time they created the stage, the entire mood had turned bad already for my wife. My wife was planning for her birthday for more than a month, and she almost started crying because of mismanagement (read below for more details). This mismanagement made me look bad in front of my wife for selecting the location (no other vendor is allowed in Kesar hall). In our conversations, the vendor mentioned that premium balloons that cost 6 to 7 Indian rupees per ballon (even to the vendor) will be used for decoration. Given the premium prices, we were expecting premium outcomes. Whenever we buy premium balloons, they are not transparent. The balloon they used was available in the local market at 40 balloons for 70 Indian rupees (I know this because I regularly do decorations for kids' birthdays in our family and I purchase them from a market named "Sindhi market" in Nadiad). My wife had asked to place the digit "1" on the stage (denoting the first birthday). The decoration guy agreed to this in our planning discussion. But they were missing. A lot of guests had arrived by the time they fixed the stage. So we did not create a scene by fighting. My wife specifically asked them to place box decorations in the corner. The decoration guy agreed to this in our planning discussion. They were not there by the time stage was fixed. The stage and backdrop created were so small that even if two other guests stand on the stage, the decoration looked odd. They do not have any sense of aesthetics. The entire scene was embarrassing despite paying premium money in a top-notch place. These many mistakes despite meeting face to face twice to discuss the decoration. The decorations...
Read moreLocation and Ambience: The Mango Courtyard Restaurant is located at Piplag Cross Road and is part of an expansive complex featuring multiple restaurants and banquet halls. The ambience is commendable both inside and outside the restaurant. While the external lighting could be improved for night photography, the interior lighting and decor are exceptional.
Food Quality and Menu: This visit marked my third experience at The Mango Courtyard, and the food quality was excellent as usual. The menu is comprehensive, detailing dietary requirements and restrictions. However, it lacks specific labels for vegan options and portion sizes, which can be somewhat inconvenient.
Dining Experience: During our meal, we enjoyed a variety of dishes, including soup, a platter, BBQ options, and a sizzler, concluding with a Sizzling Brownie for dessert. The dinner was thoroughly enjoyable, with the overall expense remaining within budget.
Service and Staff: The service at The Mango Courtyard was exceptional. The staff maintained constant communication, ensuring our comfort and satisfaction with each dish. Their recommendations were spot on, adding to the overall positive experience.
Special Touches: In a delightful and thoughtful gesture, the restaurant staff presented me with a complimentary gift—a container for snacks—after bringing out the birthday cake. While I expected a memento, this practical gift will find its use.
Overall Impression: I would rate the restaurant 4 stars, primarily for its excellent service. Given the consistently high-quality service and food, I look forward to returning for future celebrations with...
Read moreFirstly, I and my friends visited a week ago on Sunday. They have acquired good amount of area and developed nice place. Dedicated playing area is there for kids.
Secondly, let's come to main part, food. We ordered soups and it was just like water. No thickness, no taste in manchau soup. When they served masala papad there was no masala on papad and very less amount of mix vegies on papad. I can't believe that these kind of restaurants/hotels savings food in this manner. This was completed not expected. Moreover, one of my friends found hair in his masala papad. Overall in first 2 orders, we encountered 2 disasters.
Thirdly, both of Punjabi subjis were ok ok not up to the mark. It was tasting sweet when I ate it. I do not want to comment on rice because nothing can be special in that. Let me add my view on Dal khichadi ordered for my friends kid. This is the only thing that I found simple, tasty and upto the mark.
At last, i suggest hotel management to review this kind of stuffs and improve. Huge scope of improvement for them. Having good ambience is big positive for them but people like me don't visit again if they don't have ability to serve tasty food. People who only give importance to ambience should visit. Service was very slow. I opine that they don't have sufficient staff to deal when hotel operate with Max capacity.
Overall experience was poor. I won't visit again and don't suggest my...
