This review is for Zarwani Flavours only. My review for the Fern Sardar Sarovar Resort is separate.
My family and I dined here on three occasions for breakfast and dinner in January. I'll provide my review in 3 categories:
Food: the food was very good and consistent throughout our visits. You have the option of a la carte or buffet style for your meals - we opted for buffet. You'll find all of the essentials and then some for each meal. I appreciate the way they separated Jain food from all others as it made it easier for the customers to select their items. Additionally the desert table and salad/fruit tables are both separate which were visually appealing as well. The food is delicious and I give them 8/10 for food.
Ambiance: the ambiance of the restaurant was really lovely. They have a live singer who's very good and a calm, dimly lit, atmosphere which made it easy to talk with your family and friends at the table. The ambiance gets a 9/10.
Service: I really feel that this is where the restaurant shines the most. The service is excellent. Ajay and Bhaskar were the absolute best, for every single meal. They really closely tended to me and my family, offering different roti regularly, and even went as far as making plates for us at times. We saw them for breakfast and dinner and they ensured that our chai was always full. They are genuinely sweet, thoughtful, and one of a kind people who always served my family with a smile. Based on Ajay and Bhaskar's service alone, I give the service of this restaurant a 12/10. Absolutely...
Read moreZarwani restaurant has a very cooperative chef Rakesh Singh. I had a special requirement of mild soups for two days and he himself came to understand my requirement and prepared nice special mild soups. Although the chefs are not so well trained and don't have enough exposure and experience of tastes which you might have tasted in the well developed city. The restaurant doesn't have wide range of menu in Ala carte but has a very cooperative manager and chef to customise your order according to your needs. One of the biggest loophole is their extremely slow service. They have very less staf to serve you at the restaurant. The staff is poorly trained as if they have either untrained, cheaply paid locals or have been come in this hospitality and customer service domain from village. I asked for extra onion and it came after 20 minutes of request and that too thrice to different members. If you plan to order your ala carte menu then come with extreme patience as they might take atleast 45 minutes to 1 hour to serve you. They even take 15-20 minutes to attend you & take your order. Nobody looks at you. For ambience, it's common and not too bad and not so peaceful and cozy. They have very loud music in the background speakers. Overall I would rate them average but because SOU has limited options and some one staying in fern would get this restaurant, people might choose to opt for this restaurant. Plan to come in advance so that you can cope up with your hunger pangs and order...
Read moreOur experience was awful! On a Sat at 7 pm, the place was not open despite the timings on Google. It opened 40 minutes later. First the hostess said we could order a la carte or go for the buffet. Then she asked for my name and number. Why? We were just gonna eat, pay and leave. I refused. Didn't want any marketing spam calls from them. Then the hostess came back and said because we were not staying at the hotel ( this place is inside the Fern resort), we could only go for the buffet. Because taking my 88 yr old mother (who was with us) elsewhere at this point was difficult, I agreed. The buffet was so so. Lotsa paneer this and paneer that. Live music was awful. The guy on the stage singing to karaoke tunes totally off-key. It was oppressive on the ears. When it came to paying the bill, they said I could not pay with cash. Only credit cards! Although i had a card, I felt it was strange to not accept cash as a payment method in a big restaurant. Overall an unpleasant experience and a...
