My First Visit to 7 Barrel Brew Pub, Gurugram: A Journey of Hops and Happiness
Nestled within DT Mega Mall on Golf Course Road in DLF Phase 1, Gurugram, lies a haven for beer enthusiasts: 7 Barrel Brew Pub. This microbrewery, renowned for its handcrafted fresh beers since 2014, had long been on my radar.
Last weekend, I finally had the opportunity to experience it firsthand, and it was an adventure filled with delightful brews, delicious food, and lively entertainment.
A Warm Welcome and a Tour
From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with the aroma of freshly brewed beer and the sight of vibrant, cheerful patrons. Hemant Kumar, the owner, greeted me with a warm welcome and graciously offered to give me a property tour. His passion for brewing was evident as he explained the intricacies of their in-house brews and the history behind the pub.
Crafting the Perfect Brew
One of the highlights of my visit was undoubtedly the handcrafted beers. 7 Barrel Brew Pub is celebrated for its Premium Wheat Lager Beer and Dark Beer, both of which I had the pleasure of sampling. The Wheat Lager was crisp and refreshing, perfect for a hot summer day. The Dark Beer, on the other hand, was rich and robust, with deep flavors that lingered pleasantly on the palate.
Just as I was settling in, Hemant introduced me to their latest creation: Alphonso Mango Fresh Beer. This brew was a revelation—refreshing, seasonal, and perfect for any occasion. It's the kind of beer that elevates any summer gathering, leaving me eager to return for more.
Food and Entertainment
No visit to a brew pub is complete without sampling the food, and 7 Barrel Brew Pub did not disappoint. While the food was generally good, there were a few standout dishes that I highly recommend. The chilli chicken was a perfect blend of spice and flavor, the arancini cheese balls were delightfully cheesy, and the tandoori classic non-veg platter was a treat for the senses.
For the mains, I was particularly impressed with the mutton rogan josh and the kadhai chicken. Both dishes were flavorful and well-cooked, providing a satisfying complement to the beer. To end my meal on a sweet note, I indulged in a pair of gulab jamuns, which were perfectly sweet and gooey.
The evening was made even more special with a surprise performance by a belly dancer, who added a touch of exotic charm to the lively atmosphere. Her performance was captivating and thoroughly enjoyable, making my first visit to 7 Barrel Brew Pub even more memorable.
The Ambiance and Service
7 Barrel Brew Pub is a perfect place for parties and casual dining, with a lively ambiance that exudes joy and camaraderie. The pub is a popular spot for corporate gatherings, so don't be surprised to see groups of colleagues unwinding after a long day at work. While the service was generally prompt, I did notice that a bit more training on standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the servers could enhance the overall experience.

Read moreWe made a booking for our Team Lunch with them. I was connected directly to one of their staff members. Earlier we were told that it would be INR 900 per person, however, they said that there was some miscommunication about the charges, so it would be INR 1000 per person. We agreed to it since a friend of ours told the food was good. We agreed for a booking of roughly 25 to 35 people since that was the estimate.
At the time of the lunch, they were noting down the names of the people joining the group. Since we were busy attending the people, we didn't pay attention to the list. When the final bill came, we were charged INR 25000. We paid at the time.
However, after the lunch, I messaged the staff to get a copy of the list. To my surprise, we only had 22 people who attended the lunch.
When I enquired, I was told our minimum guarantee was for 25 people so even if we had lesser number, we would be charged for the minimum guaranteed count. I told them that I wasn't informed about it, to which they paid no heed to it. Since I was connected to the staff directly, I had hoped I'll be given all the information, however, seems they don't tell you this on purpose.
Further, even in the list of 22 people, there were two names which were fake. These people very smartly added names in between hoping no one would notice. They had hoped the count would exceed & they would be able to bill us extra.
I asked the concerned person to investigate & get back to me & since then he has been ignoring all my messages. He reads them & doesn't bother responding.
So to anyone who is reading this, I request you to be very careful when you book team lunches etc. with them. They are literally scamming people & hiding...
