On a recent trip along the Murthal highway, we decided to stop at Haveli, one of the well-known themed restaurants in the region. It’s hard to miss with its traditional architecture, bright lights, and cultural décor that immediately catch your eye from the road. It promises a taste of Punjab, both visually and in its food offerings. After spending some time there, here’s my detailed take: ⸻ Ambiance – 5/5 The ambiance is the strongest point of Haveli. From the moment you step inside, you’re transported into a space inspired by rural Punjab. There are vibrant murals, traditional seating setups, statues of folk dancers, bullock carts, and even live cultural displays at times. Whether you choose to sit indoors or outdoors, the entire property is well-maintained and beautifully designed. The outdoor seating is especially pleasant in the evenings, with fairy lights and a village-style setup that makes it perfect for families and groups to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. ⸻ Food – 3/5 Coming to the food, it was decent but not exceptional. We ordered a few classic North Indian dishes, expecting bold flavors and hearty portions. Unfortunately, the portion size was surprisingly small, especially considering the prices. Taste-wise, everything was average – not bad, but nothing that stood out as extraordinary. The gravies were on the richer side, but lacked depth in flavor, and the breads were fresh but standard. For the price you pay, you’d expect something either tastier or more generous. ⸻ Pricing – 3/5 While Haveli offers a premium and memorable ambiance, the pricing is definitely on the higher side, especially when compared to nearby dhabas that serve similar food. When you factor in the small portion sizes, the overall value for money feels a little low. You’re clearly paying more for the experience and setting than the food itself. ⸻ Service – 4/5 The service was polite and fairly prompt. The staff seemed trained to handle crowds and were accommodating when it came to seating preferences. The cleanliness, both in the dining areas and restrooms, was commendable. ⸻ Final Thoughts – 4/5 Haveli on Murthal Road is a place you visit more for the experience than the food. It’s beautifully crafted, clean, and great for a road trip pitstop where you can relax, click some great pictures, and enjoy a bit of cultural charm. However, if you’re coming here solely for a delicious, value-for-money meal, you might find yourself underwhelmed. ✔️ Pros: Beautiful ambiance, clean and organized, good for families ❌ Cons: Small portions, costly, average food quality Overall Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 Recommended for those who value experience and environment just as much (or more) than taste and pricing.

Location - 4/5 ( Last good spot ) Parking - 4/5 Restaurant visibility - 2/5 ( There is a lot of confusion between Bikanervala and Haveli specially when u are entering ) Entrance - 4/5 ( clean and wide ) Covid precautions - 5/5 ( Temperature and sanitization with some nice instrument on every door so u don’t have to open door with hands ) Staff -1/5 - Due to covid I wanted to avoid anything fresh specially so I visited their shop just in front of the restaurant. - My cousin asked them for chocolate and to my surprise they gave him the imported one and they were trying to stick imported items instead of giving the same domestic product at half price. - I felt cheated and confronted the person and then he started calling his management as he claimed he was not the one to sell it and then he started asking his coworker if we really got the items from them? - I simply wanted to exchange the products and it was totally a casual cash exchange so there was no bill from their end. - Anyways they did exchange the product but it took them almost 10minutes to confirm if we got the items from them and then asking if they should let me exchange the products. - As all the products are behind the counter they should understand customer and who would like to spend triple amount for same item ? And why would u hand out imported items to kids? - Anyways before leaving I got some packet of lays which were covered in dirt from top. - So cleanliness of items is really required! I wanted to have a cold drink also but they got only can and there was no cleanliness with the products.

I went to Haveli, Murthal on 2nd March-2025. While everything was going smooth, there was an incident that happened with me there. I would like to share the same publicly.

I was carrying a drone (less than 250 gm) with me. After having the food, me and my friend started flying the drone from haveli to nearby open fields, just for own pleasure and no commercial use. After flying about 30 mins, I was approached by a security personnel requesting me not to use the drone in the area. I totally obeyed him and called off the drone.

In next 10 minutes, another senior SOUTH INDIAN management STAFF approached me & started talking to me very rudely. None of the other staff over there was behaving like HIM. He was asking me following questions, being super rude:

-It’s a private property, do you know rules? -Do you have license? -Did you take permission?

And in no time he called the police, without even discussing with me.

To which I simply replied that a 250gm or lesser weight drone requires no license. I also explained him that all the local security staff were watching me fly the drone & showed no concern on the same. Also, there was no sign of “No Drone Fly Zone” mentioned. He himself was unaware of the rules and continued to be rude and could not give me any explanation.

The police came and discussion happened again back and forth. I was asked to delete all the drone footages that I took. I agreed to do the same, while requesting them to arrange laptop and memory card reader which they couldn’t. Eventually after waiting for 10-15 minutes, I left the place.

Due to the arrogant behaviour of that SOUTH INDIAN guy, we wasted 1 hr of time in a useless discussion giving ZERO results. Due to this, my friend missed his scheduled bus for which he paid Rs.3500.

I request the management of HAVELI MURTHAL to REMOVE such kind of NON-SENSE staff from their panel who are in competent of handling the situation in a...
