I will now rate this place 2 out of 5.
Earlier I had given them 3 points but today I went to their place to eat Chole Kuche and frankly they were tasteless - just shredding paneer on chole doesn't make it tasty sir.
The taste is average as any other chole kulche vala. But considering he is based in Faridabad I might give them 3 rating because Faridabad lacks good eating places and here even average becomes good.
I have both - Dine in at the shop and also ordered through Zomato.
Pro and cons of Zomato -
Pro is you simply have to order and wait.
Con is that the chole kulche do not come hot and it effects the taste. The taste would be below avg. Nevertheless, if you have no option and you really want to have Chole Kulche you can order.
Pros and Cons of Dine In -
Pro is you get hot Chole Kulche. However, the con is that even then the taste goes at Max average. Regardless of how most Faridabad people call it a tasty chole kulcha place, the fact is that the taste is simply average when you compare to Delhi side Chole Kulche waalahs. MIND YOU I AM NOT CALLING THE TASTE AS BAD. But it is not as good as people of faridabad would want you to believe. Taste is just average. if you really really feel like having Chole Kulche someday you can order.
Another Pro could be you can ask the person to customise it - make it spicy, less spicy, more butter etc. Which is not possible on ordering. Infact even if you specify on delivery portal that you want e.g. extra spicy, you will most of time get only regular chole. I saw myself that the Zomato delivery boys (lot of them would just wait in rush to get the order, their priority is certainly not your customisation and neither i saw any instructions from the chole guy to his worker for any customisation)
The BIG CON is the rush at this place. Most of the time you will be standing in lot of crowd in small place and pleading the counter guy to look at you, take your money and give your Kulche.
There is no Sitting is another CON. Just take your chole kulche and stand or sit wherever you can - scooter, pavement, car etc.
Edit - couple of high slab-tables are now put up but the day I went they were dirty (no one to clean since ages) and had red ants all over the tables so I had to pick my plate and stand and eat.
All said and done my review is -
Strictly average Chole Kulche. Have them if you want to have Chole Kulche badly some day and you cannot go to Delhi side.
Also, i would suggest you go there than...
Read moreI would rate their Chhole Kulche the best in Faridabad and can be compared to Bhogal's Chhole Kulche in Connaught Place. They have around 6-7 varieties of Kulche available including Paneer Kulcha and Whole Wheat Kulcha. Their Chhole is the tastiest and Kulche is soft. Unlike other vendors they do not put a lot of red or green chillies in their Chhole so even kids can also eat without hesitation. The only drawback is the cleanliness in their shop which is lacking. There was water logging near their shop and lots of flies and mosquitoes were spotted. So in case you are looking for hygiene then this is not the correct place. But yes if you are looking for taste then they are the best in town. The best option is to take away your food from the shop and either eat in your car or at home rather than standing or sitting outside their shop and finishing...
Read moreI have seen Kashyap grow from a roadside thella to a full fledged shop, from a lone man vendor to multiple employees outlet. Now Swiggy also delivers food from this joint. But he is always complaining about the exorbitant costs of running the venture. Though his food is tasty and there are the hygiene standards that can be expected from such a joint, he is still not able to earn a decent living.
Rentals in Sector 21 should be rationalised. The state must intervene. Their job should not be limited to garnering votes. Think of the common man struggling to make a living.
This is the plight of all the shop owners...
