I came to Shimla stayed in a nearby homestay zostel. I must say the food was amazingly homely. Yellow dal tadka with desi ghee remind me of my dad cooking in kitchen. I had kids along with me, no extra spices were used. Pasta and pizzas were not less than any five star serving. Chinese food was very mild and extremely good.Toppingwith rosted peanut and sesmi seed THAI style ,no MSG chemicals were added (no Punjabi Chinese). Indian and Himachali food was outstanding as it was said. I had chamiali rajma madara and chana paneer madara both were star stoppers I never expected such kind of meal would be presented to me in a stay .I also work for a 5 star hotel overseas got feeling for same here. Unbelievably slow service. Anything that we wanted to order was not available. And when we decided to just go with whatever they had to offer we were disappointed. We ordered Chicken Thukpa but were served some “chicken stir fry” which was nothing more than a bowl full of spices.
