A Hidden Gem in Bir – A Heartwarming Culinary Experience
Tucked away in the serene landscapes of Bir, Himachal Pradesh, we had the joy of discovering a truly special café—one that doesn’t just serve food, but serves love, warmth, and a taste of tradition.
We stopped here for lunch and were delighted to try the Kangri Dhaam Thali—a celebration of Himachali flavors that was nothing short of amazing. Each dish felt thoughtfully prepared, carrying the depth and authenticity of home-cooked meals. Every bite told a story of heritage, patience, and passion.
What made this place even more memorable was the team behind it—an inspiring group of women who ran the café with quiet strength and unmatched grace. Their kindness, warm smiles, and genuine hospitality are something many businesses could take a lesson from. We didn’t just feel like customers; we felt like honored guests.
The location itself is perfect—peaceful yet central, with the calming hills as a backdrop and a gentle breeze that carries the scent of spices and fresh air alike.
This café isn’t just about food; it’s an experience, a memory. If you’re in Bir, don’t miss the chance to visit. Come for the thali, stay...
Read moreFood is good but rather expensive. The portion size of majority of items was way too small.
Feedback response: now that you have mentioned this, I am not talking about complete bill but individual items, like mandi ki kachori, only rice and sabji was fulfilling, which we ordered on the first visit as well. All items we ordered except rice plate were a complete waste. I would repeat again, The portion size was really small. Secondly the coupon you shared, there was nothing written on it for where it is applicable, please share the screenshot of that misleading coupon here as well. Thirdly, meetha bhat was too meetha and there was a discussion among us about who will be finishing the last bite of it and we did finish it, so you should really stop sitting on your customers head and listening to their discussions. And what is this nonsense about sharing cctv, are you trying to threaten me, people should notice this as well before visiting your place. People please take this as a serious concern. Lastly if you can't take feedback, maybe shut down this review...
Read moreIf you're in Bir you definitely need to visit this place! It’s near Gandhar waterfall. It's truly one of the best spots I’ve experienced for authentic Himachali food.Their Siddhu - both sweet and salty—served with pure desi ghee, was absolutely delicious. And don’t miss out on the Himachali kachori ,I’ve never seen such a big one before, and the taste was out of this world!
We got there close to their closing time (they usually shut by 7:30 PM), but they were so warm and welcoming. They actually stayed open until 8:15 PM just for us. What made the experience even more special was that the place is run entirely by local women and they treated us like family.
They even invited us into their kitchen, shared stories about their lives and culture, and gave us recommendations on what to try. We also got to enjoy a breathtaking view from the café—it was truly unforgettable. The whole village had such a peaceful, kind-hearted vibe.
If you want to taste real Himachali flavors and connect with the local community, this place is...
