The Corner Cafe — Restaurant in Himachal Pradesh

Edit: 18/08/2021 They've introduced so many things in their menu that you feel like trying out each and every thing but sadly the extension of the menu is now affecting the quality of food and it gets disappointing to see someone give you food goals and then not live upto the standards they initially set ... So I've always had my food delivered from The Corner cafe and the food has always been amazing and this was my first time eating in. And, I'm sorry to say but it was such a huge disappointment... I had placed my order well in time and was told it'd take 45 minutes to prepare the order so, I knew that by the time I'd get there the food would be like ten minutes away but... Even after placing the order in advance our food was almost half an hour late. There was literally no other customer in the cafe and they have a big number of staff at hand, still my food took almost over an hour to prepare and I'd ordered only 3 things... I was pretty excited to try the SUSHI(seafood) but it turned out to be such a disappointment... I've had sushi multiple times, at many different locations but This was the first time I witnessed sushi with mayo and jalapenos and it wasn't a good combination... Half of the sticky rice were overcooked and the other half were undercooked. It almost felt like they'd used old and fresh rice together. . The only good thing about the Sushi was the WASABI ..... Living in Shimla the only seafood you get easily is fish so, when a restaurant/Café introduces prawns in their menu we're bound to go and try it out. I ordered the chili garlic prawns and they were eatable but the side of fried rice was half cooked and turned out to be a bad combo..... I paid 1847/- for the order and sadly not even a single food item was worth it!! So, judging from my first experience eating in the cafe, I can easily conclude that, in my opinion, the cafe is good for getting your food delivered because they never ever mess up your order when you go for delivery... I mean we were the only customers in the cafe yet the staff was super busy with the deliveries(i suppose) because I couldn't see any other reason for my food being super late ... So I'm just gonna stick to ordering in and that too the tried and trusted lamb burger and pizzas from the cafe....

Original review: They serve amazing Lamb Burgers.. The patty is super moist and has a melt in the mouth texture. The mutton pizza is super delicious!! Bill no. 10129 This is the 3rd time I'm having food from corner cafe, the first 2 experiences were great and they were dine in but this time around the entire spread was a huge letdown. Had ordered rara gosht, tandoori chicken, chicken biryani and paneer lababdaar.

Rara Gosht - i had strictly mentioned to prepare the food in as less oil as possible and the dish was kind of swimming in oil, the masalas were overpowering to the extent that we couldn't distinguish the taste of mutton.

Tandoori chicken- i have had chicken tikka on my first visit and i was damn happy with the way the chicken tasted and the marinate had been absorbed into the poultry, same wasn't the case with the tandoori as the masala on the surface tasted great but the bites without the masala weren't a pleasant experience since the bird wasn't properly marinated nor seasoned adequately and tasted more like boiled chicken.

Chicken dum biryani- I'm a die hard fan when it comes to biryani and have tasted some amazing biryani's in my 34 years of existence but this time around the experience was bleak, way too much kewra, the rice wasn't al dente instead was mushy, a good biryani has layers of flavour but here it tasted more like a pulao.

Paneer lababdaar- I had chicken lababdaar on my 2nd visit and quite enjoyed the experience of the rich gravy and well cooked chicken so this time around I ordered the same gravy in paneer and the gravy didn't even taste 10% of what it tasted last week, the gravy was tart and tasted way off, the quality of paneer was good as the panner was flavourful and soft but the gravy spoilt the entire experience.

I was told that the chefs are from renowned 5 star establishments but the food wasn't worth 2 stars, had a lot of expectations while ordering food since it was a special occasion and every dish on the plate was nothing but a huge...

I had an extremely disappointing experience with this café. I ordered a chicken pizza, fries, and pasta, and the quality of the food was absolutely unacceptable. The fries were a soggy mess and impossible to eat, the pizza was falling apart with overcooked chicken and poorly melted cheese, and the pasta was an utter disaster—undercooked sauce thrown over plain boiled pasta with no effort to mix it properly.

What made matters worse was the way my complaint was handled. After returning the food, I received a call from someone named Mohan, whose behavior was shockingly unprofessional and rude. Rather than addressing my concerns, he chose to argue and behave disrespectfully.

As a long-time customer, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and expected a constructive response to my feedback. Instead, I was met with hostility and a complete lack of accountability from the staff and management.

If you value decent food and respectful customer service, I strongly recommend steering clear of this place. The quality has deteriorated, and the attitude of the staff is beyond...
